Hi Gary , Becks , Geoff  - well we saw one of the people at the back - they aren't really neighbours and w don't know them at all because of the layout of the house . I wouldn't have asked them to chip in at all but one lady offered to pay half which we declined as the fence spans 2 houses. She is going to contribute towards it which I thought was really nice. There wasn't anybody in next door so we've put a note through to let them know whats happening and contractors will be installing it . Not looking forward to it at all. Thinking about my poor plants - but like I said it definitely needs sorting - its all rotted behind the tree that we had lowered and the tops falling off ! Apart from that their dog keeps worrying away at a hole in it . Have visions of him/her appearing in the garden one day.

No I didn't - maybe they will be nice but don't know them at all . Guess thats the best we can hope for . If it was me getting a free fence I'ld share the bill but in these frugal times they may just say ''Thanks very much '' !  Hubby seems to think because we installed it it's down to us.  Think it only fair to warn them though but they are not gardeners - no plants just a few straggly shrubs in pots and the grass gets cut every Preston Guild . Going round to see them now so we'll see what happens  Be back soon.

hi all - manic here . Hubbie decorating kitchen all contents in living room - driving me nuts. New fence getting erected tomorrow so moved a lot of pots and I'm fretting over my plants . I have a feeling a lot will be trampled on.

Advice please - when we first moved in here there was nothing built at the back of our property so we had to buy the fencing. Now our fence runs along the 2 other houses at the back of us and we will be calling round to tell them later that we are replacing 5 panels . Is it still our responsibility to pay  (which we are) but as the other 2 gardens will be getting the benefit can we expect them to chip in or what ? Hubby says it's down to us . I haven't a clue .

Kate - that's dreadful . Glad OH ok though. That happened to me about 5 years ago. I was giving way at an island and he ran into the back of me - he was traced and I also claimed through the M.I B. I had a bit of a battle with the insurance as they took my no claims off me but got that re-instated . Like you say it's the running to and fro to the garage but the main thing is he wasn't hurt.

So much for the lovely day - Dan you've sent your Cornish rain up here.

Another roasting day here - you lot in the south-east are in for the hottest day of the year (or so they say )  XF soooo predictable - the usual xxxx and then a few good acts. I'm with you Geoff - the guy from Asda was the best by far and that young girl did have a good voice but I didn't like the song much. The news is already stating that XF may have found a new Adele. As for the big kick-off with Zoe - sorry , all set up me-thinks.

Off to water while it's cool - there's not even a cloud in the sky.

Good morning to all .
