borage- & black fly

Posted: 19/07/2013 at 12:25

you lucky thing..I have in last cple days actually seen two in my garden...hubby cut lupins right down due to green fly & sticky sap etc.. in bin now & gone ...

yes..definately lillies..the sticky things on it are the lilly beetle lavae..yuck..I attacked mine yesterday...pair of scissors with bowl underneath & cut leaves with offenders on ..then boiling water over them..yep..I dont want them..drained & put in bin.. any others then put gloves on ..inside that black mass is the grubs..

So if you see bright red beetle on them..put a hand underneath because as soon as u touch them the blighters drop off somewhere..catch it & squish it..good luck..
