Alliums not flowering

Definitely not discouraged!  As an amateur gardener, everything I put in my garden becomes a fantastic adventure.  I get a lot of my plants and shrubs as sale items from garden shops, nurseries and roadside stalls, with the remainder from shows, friends or online.  Virtually all of the garden survives despite me - but in my small patch, I love it all - except the hundreds of slugs and snails.  I love alliums, so will keep trying to get a good display with them.  Thanks again

What tree is this?

Definitely Berberis Darwinii - mine is a hooligan!

Thanks so much for all your input. I will follow suggestions, be patient then reposition at end of season. Great to know there us help out there for novices, and I will look up those allium providers' websites.

Guess photo "righted' itself! Tallest "allium" is 120cm and girth of stem is 10cm.

The bulbs were large when I bought them at Gardeners' World from one of the Dutch allium suppliers two years ago.  Thanks for all your input - I too, am baffled.  Reckon I will dig them in to an empty space in another part of my tiny plot and see if they like the "ambience" there!!

Thanks again for your input.

Thanks for your response. They are not being over fed, and they are in gritty soil in decent sun!  They are also planted at the depth suggested for their type.  That is why I am baffled!!

I have some giant allium planted and in the last two years all I get are very tall leek-like stems and no flowers.  It looks like the same this year in to now - April.  Should I persevere, and if so anything I should be doing for them, or should I just dig them up and compost them?  They were not cheap, so I am loath to just chuck them.

Thank you
