I agree about the facial expressions too Caz. Cody is very photogenic!

Boiler whistling again! OH cant hear it.....  but looked very disapproving when I said had been twiddling dials! What he didnt pay attention to was that I'd checked with the manual & instructions on the inside of boiler 'door' to controls. Do-lally/confused I may be, but not that daft!

2cnd thoughts though, going shopping with OH on a Saturday, or anytime, that is daft!

This little pc started to have a wobbly again- reluctant to 'awake' but finally got its' act together.

Bjay- yes the Brum markets are the biggest in UK. Never managed to get to it though. Manchester fine for me. As long as daughter gets some mandels she's happy & strudle & mulled wine for us both, perfect! J.

Manchester Christmas markets apparently start tomorrow, Sat 17th. Usually finish just before the Christmas w/end. If you can go in the week they're much quieter, but early in W/ends not tooo bad! Main bit Albert Square area, by town hall, but they seem to extend further each year.

BTW I think dates & times on net somewhere. Try 'googling' Manchester Christmas markets- dont ask me to post a link..... Not all continental stalls. Last yr seemed to be lots of almost 'junk' type ones as well- not quite what you'd expect.

Off to start cooking now, grumbles starting from my tum & daughter too! J.

Our heating got put on early today- nurse got cold! I'm prepared with body warmer over jumper, over vest (!) as know will be attached to a drip, not really portable, for at least an hour or more & our longe faces East so is cold after midday-ish. Got daughter to press the button.

It normally comes on about 4.30 nowadays, but assumed OH would be back about 3pm as per norm, so thought warm house would be good. He's just got back & left door wide open whilst he unloads the car! J.

Back again. Waiting on OH getting back. Answered the phone earlier- insurance co for OH car/contents so she snapped back 'not cold calling' after I said that we didnt want cold/courtesy calls. Grr!

Caz- loved the cartoon, so true. Still to do the rest, but need to know what everyone wants for meal tonight first as may need to get at freezer before I start cleaning.

Nurse been, had discussion on growing wisteria- after relevent book been consulted! She's relatively new to serious gardening & may have planted a few 'thugs' I think.......

Daughter has given me her rota till NY, so hopefully no more surprises of 'but I've got a day off/start late/ doing twilight shift/nights' I hope.

Right, shift yourself. J.

Blasted squirrels!

I use pegged down pieces of bean mesh over any wanted bulbs. Stops the squirrels digging for them. Tulips though I always now grow in tubs, also mesh covered, as they are magnets for squirrels in the ground. Remember to remove the mesh when you start to see the bulbs emerging, but even then the squirrels can attack! J.

What's the weather like in your area?

WManchester is dry & bright at the mo. Lots of rain expected later though.

Was about 3C in my back garden this morning. J.

Bjay I'd pot up the iris, if their eventual site not ready/decided & tuck the pot next to the house wall. That way they're sheltered, but still outside. With their being packaged & in transit they've been a bit 'tucked up' for a while, so some limited protection may be best. They are hardy so even the unheated greenhouse could be 'warm' for them. I've got a couple of old doubleglazing bits that I lean against the outside of my greenhouse & something such as that gives protection from the worst, but isnt too warm.

Well that was the quickest, skimpiest clean I've done in yrs! Ok still to do kitchen, downstairs loo & bathroom but that will be fine later on, before OH arrives back just as GQT starts!

Trip to Manchester Christmas markets now planned. Apple strudle here I come! Can use my 'free' bus ticket too. J.

Morning all. Sun again, but lots of rain due later.

Quick nip in before I start cleaning downstairs- oops who planned to do it yesterday? Nurse due lunchtime so needs must! NOT houseproud, but there is a limit to the dust layer.......

'B' boiler woke me just after 6am with its' 'whistling'! 4X I got up & prodded things!! Poor daughter had only got back in about 2.30am so she's now grumpy, not surprisingly. Shall give them a ring sometime soon so they know before they return to do rest of bathroom bits.

Have altered Tesco delivery & added some more items already. Back to a Tuesday again, but late in afternoon. Wed now free for me to go Christmas shopping without daughter who turns out to be off again on Thursday!

OMG is that the time? Byee.... J.

Well, that's Tesco organised for next week. Will be totally confused as usually have delivery on a Tuesday, but cant, so will spend the rest of Wednesday afterwards thinking it's Tuesday....

Will also be going to a store at w/end. Why you ask? OH wants to upgrade his mobile contract- I knew it wouldnt last & it's bound to cost! Daughter also wants me to spend so much on dairy so I can get £ off petrol voucher for her!! Somehow I think I've gone wrong somewhere with that..... Still if OH takes ages shall go into Costa!

TV flopping now, night all. J.

Another phonecall & no message nor number!

OH did phone, my mobile which for once was in my pocket & not lying around somewhere. He's working tomorrow after all, so I shall have time to be Mrs Mop tomorrow. Good.

Window cleaner paid. Kale must've drained by now so off to cook. J.
