Fork Handles

Afternoon all.

Not too wobbly today, good as did a quick local shop, then dropped OH's film off for processing- yes old fashioned but some people do still use it! Completely forgot to actually check when to collect it so shall trot up sometime next week I think.

Then braved TC. Still half-term for some, but got there early & parked a good distance away, so easy. Took non fitting top back to M&S & then bought food treats as requested by daughter. Then trotted up, slight slope, to cafe for my coffee. Then as 20% of household stuff got a new bathrack that have been eying for ages. It'll just appear when we have new bath.

Am one of the women who's cancer was picked up by screening, so was all ears this morning. Am not one of the 'overtreated' ladies as mine was an invasive sort,  still upsetting though.

Wild & windy outside today, so shall keep busy inside. Spare room still awaits... J.

Phew, my forgetting to actually put the cheese into the cheese sauce for macaroni cheese tonight- - wasnt a disaster after all. I just put loads on top for grilling & then when top browned, just turned off the grill & shut the door. The cheese then melted down into the sauce.

Shant be late out of bed tonight. OH leaves about 5.30am on Mondays & daughter was early this morning too. We've just had a small packet of the forgotten chocolate buttons between us.

Know am tired as cant spell/type properly. Still only another 4 lots before the next scan to see if can have the remaining 3, yay! The end is in sight... J.

Monday's tea always macaroni cheese over cauliflower & grilled with extra cheese & toms on top.

Used to work regular Mondays so needed to have somethiong could assemble without thinking. Tonight, definitely not thinking & have forgotten to add the cheese to the white sauce before I added the cooked pasta, use penne normally, & poured the whole over the cooked cauli! So have put a lot of cheese on top & grilled it anyway, there was noway I could rescue it......... Should still tase fine though she says.... J.

I's back for a bit.

Did I do spare room sort out? No, but all the ironing got done whilst watching a prog about Mallory & Irving probably climbing Everest in' 24. Always loved those tales- avidly read Tenzings' book when young.

Am whacked now though- blasted lack of energy- so shall collapse for about 30mins before assemble meal. J.

My hair was/is soft & curly & various shades of grey, so my biggest nightmare was if it came back black & straight!

Chores going v e r y slowly, but really need to disappear into spare room to start the sort out!! At least the sun has arrived so will be warm in there. It's one of those chores that have been left, like w/end homework, but if I dont sort in there I wont have anywhere to plonk stuff from airing cupboard, which needs emptying so boiler can go in there.... still to start ironing too....

Back later. J.

You'll NEVER get me on a boat willingly again! Very seasick, even in harbour!!

There's snow in the Austrian village we visit- very pretty. Now have finished all my Milka that I brought back.......

Ok, dishwasher sorted, now to wrap up to go down to compost bin with kitchen veg waste. Postie been with yet another parcel for daughter & letter post came ages ago, which is most unusual. J.

Scratching post for some animal/cat perhaps? BTW leaves are dying back now anyway, so that's normal, unless the stem scratches are deep enough to have damaged the internal parts? J.
