Complete mystery to me.

Rain again here. Thought it'd stopped/passed over earlier. OH wants to have a picnic tomorrow, daughter panicking about a work deadline so grumbled about picnic idea. OH pointed out t'was Father's Day & he wanted to go out!!

Tennis still on- I no longer have remote, so quite surprised about that!

Did a whole load of sorting out yesterday- carriert bags of 'stuff' that we'd got from when cleared Dad's house last year. Lots of laughter & tears but discovered various original birth/death certificates that will be useful should daughter continue with the family tree sometime. Also now know where my grandparents are buried- just assumed somewhere else, so that's good.

Tonights' meal to start sometime soon. We also had cheese & tomato toasted sandwiches for lunch. J.

Hi, just had some sort of computer crisis? It suddenly lost the net, daughter still got & all lights on rooter still on, then said 'windows doing a repair'!! Ended up saying couldnt do anything, blah, blah. So unplugged it all, replugged, rebooted & hey presto all ok.....was even still logged in on here. Weird.

No hadnt had anything extra attached to it- dont do that, come on am pc thick after all. So no idea.....

Need to get OH to sort out my security though- he promised & he's trying to look interested in the tennis- I have the remote!

Raining again & the wind still strong. Well at least the pc hiccup meant that I did some mending whilst waiting on 'a repair'.......J.

Those pizza trays come with holes already in them- try wilcos, supermarkets etc.

BTW they do work very well for pizzas- bases very crisp. J.

In a pot? Any chance it could have dried out? They really prefer being in the ground, with some moisture around. J.

The rain appears to be moving away, as getting brighter, but the wind is still strong in Manchester. Only about 13-14C out there, no wonder OH just gone to find a 2cnd jumper!

Loreli- I've got a 'returning' Acanthus that doesnt want to flower. Yes, bits are appearing not quite where I'd expect them, or want, but easily pulled up when spotted. J.

Am back. Nearly got lost in hospital, even the staff unsure of where I needed to go & how to get there!

Anyway made it! A nice nurse ended up taking me up in a lift- dont usually do lifts, but stairs didnt seem to get me anywhere sensible. Appointment went well & another staff member got me back down to ground floor & pointed me in right direction for my carpark- which was not full, so no problem there.

Nipped into M&S on way back as had dress in bag- if it hadnt needed washing etc it does now! Found jacket & yes the colour would be fine. Sussed out best size- am in-between really- then suddenly thought, big mistake, of the bag want to use. Not sure it'll be a close enough match/tone-in to jacket. Hmm, so have now put bag in my shopper ready for tonight & see if it is ok. You watch the 2 remaining correct size jackets get sold in the meantime.

Even checked out handbags, just in case, but nothing appealed. Why oh why did I not keep that little white one that I got cheap for the last wedding? Daughter insisted that I had a major chuck out a while back- grrr. Could always try the outlet place I suppose.........

Anyway success for daughter's wants, but she can pay for them, again tough if they get sold in meantime.

Have got washing in- pretty well dry & the wind is increasing- the patio doors sound as if a bee trapped in them!

BTW Kate, memory wont come totally back- double whammy to brain in past. I cope, not sure others do though....... J.

Think you're entitled to rant Kate. I'd be yelling at everybody!!

Am having lunch now before need to set off to hospital. Choice of 2 carparks but no idea where will need to go once inside. Hopeless memory means that even when told etc will have to ask for repeat of instructions! Luckily if any staff spot a vacant look on patient/visitors faces indicating 'I'm lost', they always ask to help!

The dress fits!! Daughter wants to go shopping tonight at TC so shall see if the jacket a suitable match. Had a quick look in OH's wardrobe & may be taking Geoff up on his offer!! J.

Morning Frank.

Sun & breezy today here in my bit of Manchester. Washing flapping & I've watered in the greenhouse, which is still in part shade for a bit.

I've got a hospital appointment, so no chance to garden today!

More signs of hedgehog visiting the garden- slug population seems untouched! J.

Have finally organised a tesco delivery for next week- just kept being interupted/being distracted by phonecalls/tv!

Daughter working late, so I've got the remote- she's almost as bad as OH! Springwatch at the mo.

Have got out a dress am going to wear for a wedding next month- assuming it still fits!! Realised that it also needs a wash! Not going to be co-ordinated though, bag not quite the same colour, but close enough. Noticed un-lined jackets at M&S today so may investigate on way back from hospital tomorrow. Memo to self- put dress in bag & take with me! Choice of 2 pairs of shoes, depending on weather & have already put a note on calendar to get a head scarf if my hair not grown back sufficiently. No idea what OH will wear........J.

Gosh Lottie, you have been busy.

Only toms, runners & courgettes this year. Oh & some chard as well. This garden is 'slug heaven' despite the hog & thrushes, so salad stuff takes a real hammering.

The courgette in the compost bin is the happiest, but the 2 on this yrs veg plot, next to runners are fine too. The one in last yrs plot is already well munched! Beginning to think, after 2yrs without, that nemaslug is worth it after all.

Oh yes, I found a healthy alpine starwberry plant in the flower bed- must've thought it was a potentilla! Not quite ripe yet. J.
