Becks, any old empty compost bags around? They're black lined & have holes for drainage. Or you could always put the charity bag into a black bin liner, plus some holes for drainage, & that would be darker & thicker too.
Have cleaned & stored the 'pot saucers'- well a collection of old, cracked, chipped side/dinner plates/bowls. Have far too many, but daughter will need some for her house plants/babies so a good recycle there. I always find myself remembering when we actually used them as plates & where we got them from. Certainly a cereal bowl from my uni days still going.
The wood from daughter's futon has been stashed inside the shed. Far to good a quality to tip it. I now have space on the greenhouse staging. Still to find room for the supermarket delivery crate that daughter brought back from uni. Hmm, sturdy, very good handles, lots of drainage.....must think on that.
Anyway, after these jam butties, will go & prune the cornus so have the stems ready for plant supports next month.
Oh & the 2 pots of s/pea seeds that I thought were 'duff' & just popped onto the shelf in the 'not frost free greenhouse' are showing signs of life after all! J.
