Almost done up there. Bossy madam has stood over me, & supplied tissues as nec. We can see the spare bed, wow!

I will need a tip trip, but hope to make a start on the shed tomorrow (it's supposed to be dry....) so shall wait until that's all done..... Must also organise that charity collection.........

Had my daily quota of coffee already, so celebrated with the remaining crisps.

Now just the top cupboards to investigate.... J.

What's the weather like in your area?

The predicted rain has arrived!

It was dry, bright & windy earlier, so I did put some washing out- almost dry, before a mad dash to rescue it.

Have been doing a long overdue sort out of 'stuff' in our spare bedroom. A tip visit will be needed, but plan to make a start on the shed tomorrow which will add to the 'tip pile' & make a journey worth while. J.

Spare room sort out day 1 here!

Interupted by the spotting of a RAT scoffing the ground feeder bird food!

Banshee wailing & banging of old shower rail on ground sent it packing, this time!! When you think how much time we've spent recently watching those b feeders! Anyway, bait now put down just under shed & shall keep my eye out. Seed feeder removed, sorry birds.

At least the main kitchen waste compost bin still looks un-attacked. Well it does have mesh beneath the base of the darlek, sort of pulled up around sides, plus rubble pushed firmly against the base so any holes easy to spot! Shall use wormery for a bit, they'll be stuffed! Plus excess can go into garden/food waste collection, drat!

It'll have got in from the open ground behind us, via the gap between the barge boards/uprights caused by the councils' tree roots disturbing our fence. Have given up asking them to fell the 'b' thing!

Right, spare room awaits again.

Will catch up later. J.

WE also checked for proximity to shops, Drs, hospital, libraries thinking that when we no longer are able to drve can we still get to  necessary places.

Yep, that's the plan. Having had 2 previous periods of not being allowed to drive, it made me realise what would be sensible.

Thing is, can I cope when OH decides to work from home before he fully retires?

Much muttering from upstairs as daughter tries to sort out her room...

Ok, soup time.J.

I suppose it depends on how big it is & whether you want to try & keep it? J.

Yes wherever OH & me end up I already have a list of wants, such as bus route etc. Middle of nowhere not for me, but then neither is suburbia & have been here nearly 30yrs!

The Ikea trip was also for me to double check on the good old Billy bookcase/cabinet range. OH & me need one for all the china/glasswear have kept from parents' house. OH can practice assembly on daughters' first!!

Have looked at all sorts of china cabinets, from various places, including M&S outlet/main stores, but they are almost too good in appearance. That would 'show up' all our existing stuff, which is a right mixture of pine & other. I dont want to start again whilst still in this house, so Billy it'll be. Have to admit if we go the NEDerbyshire route then there is a wonderful furniture shop, just along from the little house, from which we'll treat ourselves. J.

Aah cute.

We had an elderly golden retriever who would happily wear my Mum's rimless spex. Made perfect sense- dog getting/got cataracts which can cause shortsightedness & Mum was short sighted!

I still dont want any food....this is not normal. J.

Nothing to lose I suppose as around the house most of time- hmm, may try. Thx for that.

Daughter now bored! She's got so used to all the revision that it probably does feel weird.

Am still stuffed from lunchtime. Soup I think for a snack later. J.
