Wayhay! Glad I've managed to win something!

OH now has the remote up here & daughter is plotting what to buy on-line.Geoff I'd agree with your choices, but only time will tell & where I can hide both remotes?- OH has just unearthed the universal one........

All pressies wrapped & suitably placed around the tree. OH still to do daughter's card- must remind him.

I've got an invite to the sale at local GC. Daughter & me usually go on 27th but she's working so am planning. against my better judgement, to take OH...need posh cards for next yr. J.

Oh I do delegate on 'the day'. I have no choice. CDay in 01 was admitted to hospital. In 02 tried to 'do' it all & failed miserably, so now about 10am am kicked out of kitchen until 7pmish. All requests for food & drink via the serving hatch & often wear a pair of earplugs, but dont tell them, to drown out the yelling from within! Washing up will be pretty well done & I do 'button it' when things not quite as I would do them. Works for us. J.

What's the weather like in your area?

Well it was dry to start with in Manchester. Not now, steady rain again. Lights on, oh well come the midddle of January we'll start to notice longer days. J.

Oh heck. OH has just offered to give daughter her first 'do it yourself' lesson in drilling a wall.....

Kate- well done on surviving. Hope you get chance to chill out over the hols & remember-delegate!

Have done the phone banking, got food out of freezer for tonight, amid cries of 'where is it?' -I really must do a good sort out of that after the hols- next to find & sort out the Christmas tablecloth we always use. J.

Ok still no idea who Christmas Rose is...?

Choc of day-star.

Teens/kids/people down the back of us last night- I thought next door were entertaining in their conservatory when turned off the tv, but no.....oh well, at least no running up/down alleyway & all was quiet when bedtime.

Daughter says that when you go to bed on CEve when you get up should be CDay, but not if you went to bed at about 3am after work! She said tesco was really quiet again.....

Off to sort, may be back later if I can sneak on- much grumbling going on. Dont worry the first of them to open their laptop...... J.

Who's Christmas Rose?

Dean- hard luck. Hope the hot bath works. Drink plenty- not alcoholic, sorry- paracetamol 4hrly, & dont forget you can take Ibuprofen in between too- assuming you're ok to do that of course.

Just had a good giggle at Morecambe & Wise- still good after all these yrs.

Last present wrapping now. J.

Not sure how much work will need doing. The bathroom has recently been upgraded, but kitchen will need doing, although bet it's newer than mine! The garage is pretty derelect, but daughter doesnt think can get even her car down the side of the house, so as has a good front drive plus gates, not a problem.

She's budgeted for a new kitchen, appliances, fitting an alarm & knows that some replacement dble glazed units will be needed, but can wait. Carpets looked newish she said & all neutral.

I suspect the back fencing may need replacing too. Also noticed the leaning front fence with a privet hedge pushing at it at the the front. No footpath at front though, just a verge, so no liability problems, I hope.

There seems to be some confusion, even contradiction about the damp proof course. The usual really. We need to find a decent builder in that area & also someone to do any roof repairs, clean out guttering etc.

She's got it at a very good price & the chance to really add value. This is what her savings are for! Let's hope no real horrors turn up, as so far the report isnt that bad. Understandably she panicked a bit, but OH will talk her through it over the hol. We shall see.

Right off to cook. J.
