Becks off to think again! Glad Asda arrived.

They were promoting the click & collect at tesco today. Cant see the point for myself, unless I was driving past from work. You've still got to lift the stuff into/out of car boot so back problems inevitable in my case! Am sticking to delivery! J.

Am back. Busy morning at hospital- again! Some technician gave me confusing instructions so I went down to clinic to try & sort out. Now feel guilty that she got a ticking off from the Dr, but I was correct to query it.

Chemist next to collect prescrptions. Then drove to a Tesco store to shop, got petrol- no problem about receipt this time! Next to a nearby M&S food for a coffee & snack lunch, coz by then I was starving! Back via Aldi- phew.

Not surprised to hear daughter arrive back about 5-6am this morning. Am surprised she lasted that long. She's already phoned HR as not going in tonight, sense at last!! If any probs re 'too much sick time off' other staff & union will back her up.

Now to catch up & need to unpack the shopping. A raw day outside today, so am glad have finished all my errands. J.

Another frosty but dull day in WManchester. Below freezing again first light. Been out & about, sometimes sun (!) & others quite misty. No real fog here though. Only about1-2C out there even now. J.

Well I thought I'd done it, things certainly 'happened' & said all ok, but even more confused now..... & still no sign of the festive smileys around here! So will give up for now. Tried asking OH on phone, but that didnt help either. Daughter Mac trained & also poorly & now gone to work, so that abandoned. I wouldnt be surprised if she ends up back home.......

Tomorrow is another day, so will pop in when get back from appointment/shops etc. Need to do some mincepies too, but they may end up being done on Thursday at this rate as also need to do the pear flan, that we always have, whilst oven is on.

Going to find something to watch so can 'flop' a bit. Night all. J.

LILY BULBS

If you're not adverse to using chemicals, then a routine drenching the compost with Provado & repeated at intervals throghout the season should help keep the beetles away. Trouble is I always forget to repeat the applications, so they still struck!

I now dont try growing lilies at all, but do have Fritillaries which they also like. I dont use any chemicals on those, as in the open borders, just pick off/squash as many beetles as I spot. J.

Still to do 'the clean up' on here. Need to feel brave....you know how much a duffer I am!

Have been nursing daughter who shouldnt have gone to work last night, nor go in tonight but what do I know? If you're ill, you're ill in my book, but apparently only allowed so many days...... & she's panicing!

BTW nurse did contact the other depts' nurse after last weeks session & so shall get even more hospital appointments early next yr! To add to the 1 got already, 1 to arrive, but that will be the week before t'other & probably yet another down at local hospital as well- post tomorrows'-phew! In between that lot still have 3 weekly drug sessions, the walking group meetings, the course group meet ups- gosh wont get bored will I?
