Coo Bjay, I do need to add to our tree. Just dont tell daughter though.... She's in a better mood now as her mortgage has been approved after the survey of the house. Yet to get full survey report though, so hope no nasty surprises. J.

What's the weather like in your area?

Just walked up to local shops in the dry, but wet as walked back. Wind increasing too. About 5-6C outside at the mo in WManchester. J.

Like the logic Lottie.

Been up to Aldi & got the forgotten bits & pieces. Also advised a lady on the aftercare of an orchid! I could've been cross though as she asked could she go in front of me to 'just get it priced'? Then of course she proceeded to buy it & almost my bits as well! Drat!!

Anyway t'was a pressie for a friend. The push-in-q lady was a flower arranger & just tended to grow evergreens in her garden & her friend grew the flowers.

Back now, raining again. The council havent swept any of the fallen leaves off the pavements this yr, so actually quite dangerous walking in places. You just dont know what's beneath.

Lunchtime now. J.

Geoff- angel choc.

Dont hold your breath re our tree, someone woke up grumpy this morning. Have also decided to add some more decorations & lamnetta to it- the control freak in me is surfacing again!

Walking up to Aldi next to get bananas & mushrooms- oops. Then will brave the  baking of mincepies.... J.

Nipped back in! How inadequate shall I feel doing my mincepies tomorrow- bigsigh....

Cant say I survived the TC, just nipped in/out to 2 shops. Didnt attempt to park anywhere near to an entrance, just went further down & plenty of spaces. Walk not too far, but no problem. When was sat in cafe you could see cars circling around looking for a space, when loads of spaces on t'other side of one of the top carparks.

Just remembered need to wrap pressies sometime! & sort of plan a menu & shopping list. Joy, roll on January! J.

Yes Rain, well done!

It gets worse on my dried pasta stock- have found another packet of rigatoni at back of cuboard, so that makes 3!! No prizes for guessing what type OH will be taking back with him after the hols.... J.

Norm- thx for that. Have made a note & will ask accordingly. We know that altering daughter's radiator valve did stop the whistle- she couldnt be bothered to go & turn on the hot water tap which is the usual method of stopping the whistle.

OMG have just seen the weather forecast- I thought thursday wasnt going to be soo bad........ I dont want to have to shop on friday, but if needs must... J.

Oh that reminds me of when OH started his first business from home, as well as still working e/w. I worked regular Saturdays & OH often had an attractive female arriving, whilst me away, to collect things. Then during the week I had deliveries from a male rep. Lots of curtain twitching by then neighbour........J.

Geoff- yes a new boiler that sometimes emits a loud whistling noise anything from 30-50mins after coming on. Wouldnt be too much of a problem if didnt have daughter back 3am & only having 3-4hrs sleep before gets woken up. Or me for what it's worth- worse than an alarm..... It could be a pipe somewhere vibrating? It doesnt do it everytime either so you find yourself waiting....... just like now-  & not a peep!

OH is supposed to be contacting manufacturer, but is busy at work. Heating engineers do know about it & since still to return to do final bits in bathroom-loft/electrics- I shall ensure that their head engineer knows! J.
