Hmm, I'll see if daughter can do something. OH wont be back here until he finishes for Christmas- which reminds me WHEN is he finishing? No idea!

Daughter actually cooking us a snack lunch! I'm regretting not doing the cleaning yesterday, it's so dark! Think she may start our tree later..... I need to get the decorations out of our wardrobe, hmm, do that before or after I hoover in there?

Really chucking it down out there.

Geoff you've reminded me about the wonderrful fish van on the market tomorrow- always a  queue.J.

What's the weather like in your area?

Chucking it down in Manchester now. No frost today, but did get quite cold last night before the cloud cover increased.

Dark here too. Why didnt I do the cleaning yesterday when easy to see what doing?! J.

Oh goody, M&S have sent me some extra points vouchers- now which store shall I visit?

Daughter has pointed out that by not having a taxi on Sat night we can leave as early if/when I need to crash out- true, but still not impressed!

Ok am off to be busy. Have a good day everyone. J.

Morning all, daughter up & beat me to bathroom!

Pam- love all that.

Jean- Daughter is supposed to be starting our tree later today or the w/end.

Geoff- moon choc.

Dull & no frost at all today. Cant see many flowers still out now, am going to do a count, as someone suggested on another thread, on 1st Jan. Should have a note from past yrs somewhere.

Oh good, daughter arrived plus her breakfast, good sign. J.

Yes you can still add to a bin. You will need to keep it mixed/stirred. It will speed up again once the weather warms up.J.

Geoffrey!! I'm around you know!

Actually that's cheered me up. OH has refused the offer of a taxi to/from the 'do' on Sat night. Great, shall be sober whilst all getting tiddly around me. AND before you ask, OH wont be driving!!

He'll be lucky if I manage to stay awake after the drive over- especially with 'could you be as early as possible? coz 'so n so's choir is carol singing in the main square in town at 11am' !! J.

Caz- they were saying today that people are leaving their shopping later & later waiting for the discounts that will come. Not sure that I'd be brave enough, especially since have to post several. Wasnt impressed to see that Marks have reduced their tins/boxes of biscuits already. The only time I splash out.......oh well shall hang on next year, maybe.....

Off to watch the cooking now. J.

Becks- before I forget, again

Another necklace & 2 choc coins.

Yes Geoff, simple pleasures like a decent airing cupboard matter! We've far too much stuff I expect, but the main problem in this house is cupboards/built in wardrobes on outside walls. Cold despite, cavity wall insulation, so a dry & warm cupboard for storing towels is wonderful!

Tomorrow I must get cleaned upstairs & packed for the w/end. Daughter may start to do the tree, or not.....she's still not a happy bunny, despite that sleep earlier, but at least she's sort of eating again. J.

I won some rose bushes, 4-5 I think in a raffle on IOM in 70s. At the time we didnt even have a house, let alone a garden, so my parents took some & MIL the rest. Parents' ones were still going when we sold the house in'11. MIL moved so I expect hers stayed up at the bungalow.

Daughter has just eaten a decent meal & has settled down for a sleep!

I still need to finish some sorting of 'airing' which is dumped on my bed. The 'new' airing cupboard is brill, especially on the top shelf, which is higher than the boiler. With the previous set up the hot water tank was well lagged, so although some heat escaped, not that much. Wish I didnt need the step ladders & a walking stick all the time though. The lower shelf is where I keep clean towels, but isnt half as warm. Under the lot is room for a box of toilet rolls, shampoos etc, so all in all a good useful space! J.
