Painting of fence

Posted: 15/04/2014 at 22:40
I have a pretty small square garden. 10 metres long by probably 9 metres wide. It is a new build house so all my garden fence is the same. The back and the left hand side has been stained brown. The right hand fence was put up last autumn. I am thinking of painting this cream as I do not fancy being surrounded by brown on all sides. Has anyone else done this. What are your thoughts ??

leaf spot on Marigolds?

I am jealous. My seeds are just beginining to show true leaves. The French marigold is a staple annual I think. My granny always used to have them and I love the smell of them. I know this is not related to your problem but thought I would share

It sounds as if the borders could be drainage channels

Morning Glory

This is the first time I have grown morning glory from seed. I am wondering what it is best to climb up. I have a fixed wire mesh attached to a fence that I grow my sweet peas up. I also have a 6ft wooden fence. My question is. What is the best way to grow these. Should I just let them wind their way up the fence with a little help. Grow them in with the sweet peas or grow them up their own frame? Thanks I advance

greenhouse advice

I purchased a walk in one from tescos last year. Good sturdy construction and it was 29.99. Only problem was in the wind it moved slightly which moved some of the poles inside and knocked the staging. I have now purchased a glass greenhouse. Perhaps if possible buy a plastic one which does not have the staging attached.

I have purchased myself a greenhouse (excited!) now thinking about what to lay it on. Should lay slabs and fix the greenhouse to this and have the slabs create a floor in the greenhouse. It should I create a base using blocks and fix the base to this and use gravel as the floor of the greenhouse. ?

I have an indoor/outdoor cat. She uses a litter tray and I use to wood based cat litter that is a natural product. Can I use this for anything in the garden, I am also going to start composting. Could it be used in this.
