I have been told by a friend that emptying shredded paper into the compost is a bad thing because of all the toxins in the ink. Anyone got views on this?
I have been using Garotta to help break down my compost up until now. I am wondering if it will still help the process in winter - our climate is very cold in the NE of Scotland.
Is it possible to break down clay soil with lime?
Is it OK to put leaves collected in my leaf machine and "minced" into my compost box?
Is it OK to take cuttings while the plant is still flowering? Is it OK if it is a first year plant which is flowering abundantly?
I have a dahlia doing extremely well in a large container in compost.
The leaves are currently being eaten alive by something but I can't spot any kind of insect.
