Tulips

I have some tulips in a pot that are flowering-

 Do you know why they they don't have stems? I'm sure I bought  'normal' bulbs....

Become a hedgehog champion!

I signed up with hedgehogstreet in late autumn when we spotted a hedgehog in the garden during the day and realising that this might not be right for him, I searched online for info and clicked on hedgehogstreet site.  The pack I received was very useful and the information on the site helpful - so much so that I got into the garden and made sure there were passage ways to neighbours gardens-by making holes in the fencing.  I also made a shelter for food (I use dried cat food) and there are now a couple of areas where they can make home.  My grandchildren have enjoyed getting involed.

Talkback: How to clean bird feeders

I wash my feeders at least every two months.  They are a pain to dismantle and getting harder as they get older- they must be about 5 years old now but still ok to use!  I usually wash them in hot soapy water with bleach in using a long brush that I bought from the RSPB.  I make sure that they are rinsed well and perfectly dry before filling them with seed.......

I did have a problem when  placing an order with T & M through Gardener's world in as much as they charged me  P & P when the offer had stated 'free postage' - however I must say that I emailed them explaining what the problem was (there didn't appear to be a code to enter at checkout) and they refunded my postage - so thank you T & M
