Petroselinum crispum Parsley

Posted: 23 January 2013
Overall: Couldn't add this parsley to my Gardeners World scrapbook as I kept getting an advert each time I clicked on the scrap book icon next to the Latin plant name. Disappointing.
*** for the plant.
* to GW for adding adverts where they aren't wanted!

Petroselinum crispum Parsley

Posted: 23 January 2013
Overall: A HARDY curled parsley can be a useful addition to soups and cheese dishes in the Winter when there is less around to choose from. A hardy variety will survive frosts and snow. I really like FLAT LEAVED parsley varieties as well as they can even be added to salads in the Summer. As this variety is half hardy I might choose a different one.

Allium tuberosum Garlic chives

Posted: 23 January 2013
Overall: I often use this in cooking. Good for adding garlic flavour to soups.

Salvia officinalis Common sage

Posted: 21 January 2013
Overall: Really like having this plant on the allotment. The striking blue/ purple flowers attract the bees. Works well as a companion plant.

Allium schoenoprasum Chives

Posted: 21 January 2013
Overall: Always enjoy growing these because as well as looking good they work well as a companion plant with courgettes and attract bees to the garden.
