Thanks for info to all...for some reason it is not the same as GW on Friday night, silly because I have the Geof Hamilton videos from when he was doing the programme but I never look at them, still it is a thought for when the garden is under snow!!! I do not know how I am going to get through the dark programmeless winter days - roll on spring

Am I alone in wishing for some repeats of the best of past BBC GW programmes over the winter when Friday GW is off air?  some repeats of Geof Hamilton would be most welcome as I get withdrawal sym ptons till the next series starts?

Hebe Help!!

If cutting back Hebe now only cut back half and take cuttings to be safe they root easily,The other half cut back next year when the half you cut this year has re grown.  I knocked a big lump off one this year when I fell over a brick! it has refurnished itself and you would never know that half has gone! (I think I suffered the most)  Overwinter the cuttings under cover or start on the window ledge and put out in spring.  Does anyone know of a reasonable priced web nursery that sells the Autumn Flowering Cherry? my local nursery is asking £29 which I feel is a bit on the pricey side, after all a plum tree that fruits does not cost half that!

Pound shop plants- any success stories?

Morrisons used to be a happy hunting ground for me but this year they have converted their canopy into a mini garden centre and prices have gone up to pay for it.  However they are still cheaper than the average garden centre and fruit trees at £5 were less than Wilkinsons and Tesco!  I find markets are worth keeping an eye on as well but if you can obtain cuttings there is a definite sense of achievement when planting out in the border.  I have even been given seeds when passing gardens and admired owners plants.
