Worked for me. I love both dogs and cats. I love my garden birds to bits.Hope in my new rented property I am able to have a cat or dog.I live in a rural village, and almost everyone has either a cat or dog, and in the 2 years I have been here, I have never heard anybody complain about the dogs and cats.

Neither, just used garlic salt in bottle.

Gosh, people, I have been feeling under the weather today, but this thread has, in parts, raised a few laughs, and laughter is the best medicine. Also been an eye opener that people can be so harsh.

I dont have a cat or dog. Lemon juice and orange peel are deterrents. Also garlic.I had somebodys cat using my front garden, when I moved in, but the garlic seemed to be best.Nothing since.Am moving soon, and really hope I have nice neighbours with or without cats!!!!!!

marigolds and nasturtiums

Yes, thanks Tasker. They seem to have moved onto the petunias now.I have a dear little blackbird chick, which follows me in the garden, and sometimes is only about 6 inches from me, perched onto the same container that I am working in. I speak ever so softly., and it cocks its head to one side as if it understands. He likes to dig up the soil in the container, and when I reprimanded him the other day, I moved closer and he had an earthworm.I call him Monty. Werent those ladybird tulips outstanding in last nights GW programme! The colours of some of those plants at the show! Breathtaking!!!!!!!!!

All the borders around my lawns, are stone, so I have to use pots and containers. Also, I dont have an outside tap, so water with a watering-can. I am retired, so have the time, and I love it.

I plant in pots too. I have a lovely deep purple pansy and a fuchsia in 1 pot. The pansy came after the fuchsia. In my conservatory, which I call my nursery, I have numerous little pots, growing from seed, no not the pots!..nasturtiums, and something which said mixed colours annuals, I think. So far, I can see theres some cosmos.,
