In South Africa we often cook green tomatoes with onion and green beans. Makes a change.

tomatoes not looking good

Posted: 16/09/2014 at 20:36

so disappointed this year. My apple tree yielded 17 good and healthy-looking apples last year. This year there have been about 50 apples, and only about 6 edible. Either the birds have had them or theres marks on them The leaves are very poor and rusty looking.I rent the property, so am unable to chop it down. Any suggestions?

sorry no pics yet, but 2 of my 4 sunflowers are flowering. In Norfolk, we have had severe wind and still they sway and smile! Yellow stems and leaves but still good sunflowers.

Thank you Verdun. Thats just what I have been doing. Overwatering cosmos, in a pot, and wondering when flowers will appear.

very cute shoes, OL. My 3 sunflower plants are going to flower any day now. Am so excited! To see the plants you wouldnt think they would produce anything. Few leaves, most yellow, but flowers are coming. I entered 1 of my roses in our annual show on Sat, and came 2nd.

Last year my apple tree yielded 17 large cooking apples. I was so excited, having recently moved into my present property, and having a garden, that I was oblivious to the leaves curling up and very OLD looking and brown. The apples dont appear to be affected, and there are already about 60 odd apples. What must I do???????????????????
