Wintersong I thought Vine Weevils loved Sempervivums too ???

Lottie camping ?really? this weekend? How much are they paying you?

Yvie my parents have just gone through a change of recycling too, it was very difficult to explainhow leaving rubbish outside your house for 3 weeks just in case they turned up  was not a great idea.

Good to see you Lottie.

I managed a good hour in the garden, plenty of weeding to do. I then decided to pop to shops to buy some bread and just as I was returning the skies opened. I am drenched.

I did do my good deed of the day and moved some recycling boxes that had blown in the road, As they emptied them 2 hours ago I did wonder how many people had walked by them.

I do not understand the "look right" comment, if you like them keep them. Your neighbours advice may be well meaning but it is his opinion and you can ignore him if you wish.

Last night a cat triggered our security lights and I could then see the largest snail on the patio, so I had to pop outside and deal with him and a few of his friends. I am still finding cutworms as well they are feisty guys.

Still raining here but neighbour is having his car valeted as per schedule.

In the past I have been more concerned about growing healthy plants, only just starting to think about design, I understand what you mean about the bones.

I have put in a few Hebes but the rest will be dahlias or plants grown from seed, so I will have to wait to see what looks good/germinates.

Wintersong I also have a new sunny flower bed for this year, although mine is only 5 foot square. The hardest thing for me is waiting for the plants to make it look designed. It is so tempting to pop in odd plants and end up with a mish mash design.

The seedlings in my house are starting to struggle, they need to go out very soon. If it rains like this all day I will not be able to walk on my garden tomorrow.
