Thanks Chapelgirl and Penninepetal. The nest is near the door of my garage so I would rather get rid of them.

Thanks Sotongeoff. This is it - sorry it's in the shade. I will have to get some wasp killer - hubby says he will do it. We had one on the front of our house 3 or 4 years ago and the council charged about £50 to treat it. I dread to think what they would charge now!

Hi All,

I was just putting my tools away after a lovely day in the garden when I noticed a wasps nest "growing" out of the nest box. How can I get rid of it without getting stung, or do I have to call in the council? I have a feeling there is something with ant powder but can't remember.

Thanks, Kathy

seed packet template

Thanks Welshonion. I know I can get the tiny sealable plastic bags but I thought you were supposed to use paper or card -  in case the seed is not totally dry. I made up the packets this afternoon and and split the aquilegia seed between them - they don't look too bad. Tomorrow I'm going to see if the marigolds are seeding. How can I upload a Publisher / Word file which contains a photo?

I use Publisher regularly and have now used it to modify a template from the internet. I did not want just a box but a seed packet similar to the commercial ones - to give seed to family and friends. I've tried to upload the template but can't get it in a form suitable for uploading. I can change the size of the packet, put the name of the seeds, any growing info and I've put a photo of the plant growing in my garden - so, problem solved. Thanks for the comment.

Hi There,

Does anyone have a template for a small seed packet? I've googled it but can only find templates where the side folds over to form the back - I would prefer one where the bottom folds up to form the back. I have found one of these but it was not possible to change it to my own design.

Any help would be appreciated thanks.

Kathy

Lovely garden - you should be justly proud of it.

which plants would be best?

Hi Chellie.

I have clay soil and have just dodged out between the showers - so pix are not the best but may help.

cematis "Foreever Friends" bought at Chelsea 2010 - I'm still too scared to chop down the stems after flowering. Even though they are semi snapped!

clematis "Niobe" - this year's growth as accidentally chopped it almost to ground level earlier in the year

crocosmia - they do tend to try and take over.

As you can tell, I'm only a novice gardener but I do try.

Thanks Gardening Grandma - I will now have a go at my "Forever Friends" and "Niobe". I will also have a go at my daughter's pale lilac one - such a pretty colour but she doesn't know the name. (it was there when she bought the house)

It means that the plant loses it's leaves in winter. If they keep the leaves they are evergreens.
