Talkback: How to clean and repair your garden shed

Posted: 24/11/2011 at 15:28
I love the idea of doing the shed clean up, but walking down my garden would be a no no, now the snow is melting my heavy clay is a quagmire, and would be completely ruined, not that I would be able to stay on my feet as I garden on a steep hill and I would be slip sliding away.

I garden on clay good clay at the top then a layer of dead clay wich nothing could survive in then below that chalk, I do add different things to the soil to try to make it more pliable but it remains very heavy to dig, waterlogged in winter and cracked up in the summer, I live on a very steep hill side ways on to the garden and it seems that all the nutrients that I add leach off into my neighbors garden, shame they only grow weeds and rubbish.but I do keep struggling on to try and maintain it

I will never manage to rid my garden of ground elder as my nieghbours tend not to look after their gardens so the problem is ongoing, even the weed killer is useless, but we keep on trying.

I grow my tomtoes in deep pots, as yet I haven't had tomato blight I think useing fresh soil and not growing them near potato's helps, my friends had blight last year and again this year they are on an allotment so maybe it is easier to manage in the garden.

This feature really helpful, I did find these nasty little critters on one of my roses, I killed them, hoping now that I managed to get all of them.
