slug pellets

I use pellets after all the natural remedies failed for me. I go out in the morning and clear away and dead ones so the wildlife don't eat them.

Salad leaves

It's my first time growing lettuce and now I can't believe I ever used to buy the stuff! I've got it growing everywhere, nice to go and pick it fresh.

Help needed

I planed my courgettes two in the ground, two in  large pots from Poundland. The ones in pots are huge and already producing courgettes. The ones in the ground are smaller and not yet fruiting. They do need a regular glug of water though.

Leaf salad

I trim the top half off the seedlings and they seem to grow stronger, and regularly snip leaves off to encourage it to bush out. I grow it outdoors in pots in indoors on the windowsill. I pricked out a few seedlings and lined the veg patch, they are growing the best, bushy and neverending leaves.

gourds

It's my first year growing them and it's going well so far (Lincolnshire). I started them off in April indoors and now they have been in pots outdoors since the end of May. They grow quite big and put out climbers so it's good to have something they can twine around. They are kept in a sunny spot and I hand pollinated them using a cotton bud, early in the morning when the flowers are still open.

Insects and slugs seem to keep well away from them too, which is great.

I think I'll try this, what a good idea, I have a big bunch off it in the garden.
