Oh dear Alan, hope you've got the door shut.

I forgot to say I've also added some compost to dalek from annual plant pots that I know don't have vine weevil or nasties in them.

Sure was, I wouldn't have wanted to work down the pit but many who did so missed the friendship and solidarity your life depended on your co-worker.  My maternal grandfather died in a big pit disaster in 1936 when Mum was 8 and gran always spoke about the care and support she got from other miners families, not the mine owners.

Have you ever left your poly tunnel up over winter?

Mel can you add housebricks / rocks at the base to give more strength?

Sad pansyface, I used to work for the NCB in S.Yorks.

Remember being at my Grandma's when the news about Aberfan came through

S.Yorks, weather going in cycles ( no pun intended Dove ) dark, howling wind and tipping down rain, then few minutes later sun and light rain but still very windy. Making me dizzy

Hi Alan, I started my 4th off last week. Standing on soil, thankfully I put some bricks around the edges to give stability until it gets more stuff in as it's in a windy place.

I forked the soil base and put some half rotted compost from another dalek in the bottom ( worms included   ) added kitchen green waste and plants leaves and soft cuttings & cardboard in layers, then added some activator. Sometimes I get the stuff that neighbour has cleaned out from their G pigs, but non on offer  so used activator.  I'll keep doing this along with some grass cuttings, but not too many of those.

Artjak is our master composter so I'm sure she'll add to what I've said

It's my birthday
