Growing potatoes in bags

Posted: 17/02/2015 at 15:35

I only grow in bags and a potato barrel don't have room in the garden. I use multi purpose compost some organic potato feed mixed in, I've never put drainage in the bottom as the bags have adequate holes. After 1st & 2nd earlies are harvested I refill the bag with the used compost add a bit more and more feed and sow late carrots. All have produced well    End of the season sacks get emptied onto the flower beds.

Heck I've only been outside 3 hours and you lot have all sorts of news.

Think I should post a  and add names and  and ditto. Sorry to all who don't get a personal mention.

Panda good luck with job hunting for two  never made soup with sprouts in, or did I dream that ingredient?

Winter I'm sad to hear about your OH and being unable to leave home. I hope you do learn to drive, I am well capable of driving but lost the confidence a few years ago to venture into the unknown. I'd feel lost without my car and the independence it gives me even if it only drives around this borough and it goes to GC's on auto pilot   I have a friend who didn't learn to drive until she was mid 50's and now goes the length and breadth of the country..go for it gal x

Pdoc lovely pictures thanks  Any sign of growth from the blue beauties? I am as ever hopeful for a flower from mine this June.

Lizzie     I quite like Venison casserole  do you have a large freezer ?

Gg you've got that milk man well trained

Two dogwood cut back and chopped up, some more weeds pulled and GH's ventilated, not a mega effort but I have been thinking really hard   about where to extend veg bed to, and what shapes I want for flower beds rather than boring borders. Will fess up to standing and admiring hellebores for quite a while...your donation is looking lovely Fidget  TY.

Also had the washing out, but you don't really want to know about that....booooring

Wrong plant wrong place

To provide privacy and windbreaks I rammed all sorts of fast growing shrubs in this garden 15yrs ago, all too close together and they didn't even look good together, but they served a purpose and over the last few years I've been removing and replacing most of them but pleased I had them
