Stored Spuds Sprouting

Posted: 19/10/2014 at 16:34

Newboy I grew Pentland Javelin & Vales Emerald 1st earlies, and Charlotte 2nd earlies. All stored in garage in paper sacks cadged the sacks from green grocer as I buy from him what I don't grow.

1st earlies starting to sprout so eating quickly  Charlotte looking okay. Usually eat all before Christmas. If you've got a lot maybe rub the sprouts off until you get to eat them, but scoff 'em quickly

Nut that's my way of preparing spuds for veg bakes

Hi all, blowing a right one here !  Got washing on twirly thing earlier and almost dry but well battered ( joke for Panda who had night at chippy) Then base snapped, bit corroded with later inspection and twirly airer took off like a beach brolly and landed on flower bed  plants okay landed where I'd cleared  washing not so good  Yelled OH's name that loud that half the village with same name came to the rescue

MrsGarden soz to hear about your finger, do you think it might be broken? Had a friend who trapped hers and hurt like hell but cos she could bend it she thought not broken, but it was. Hospital only did what Bekkie suggested and taped it to next one. Hugs. Maybe some of Pdoc's pain remedy might help. Deffo not fit for any attendance at carp job

Verdun sad about the chap with cancer, it's a mean bugger when it gets you  My toms & cumbers came out last week. Toms not been brill cos had to grow cumbers & toms together and in my view not compatable, now got replacement GH so can grow seperately next year. Have my cuttings from Agash growing well to overwinter so will have them next year when cold does the garden one  Tried cuttings from Anchusa lodden royalist but they didn't grow  Do you think it's worth digging it up and putting in GH ? I know you said it was a short lived plant but would like more than one year.

Had intended weeking, in a sheltered place, but there isn't one!  So thought best to move pots to shelter and make barricades with full watering cans. Ornaments put away and winter veg staked.

Morning Dove, BM, Lizzie & Fairy.

Hope car passes MOT Dove, mine next month, always worry what they will find wrong. Now use a local garage after my little one man business retired  OH takes car for me as I'm sure they look at me and think add a few extras she won't know.

BM I have looked in the mirror and think there is something wrong with it, someone  has painted some lines and creases on it

I would also like to see Scott (pouting & walking about) in the dance off with Tim who was stomping like Peter Scmeichel. Hope Scott leaves.

Can't understand why Pixie had to keep looking at that photo and crying even in the post dance chat

Loved watching Frankie, but best for me last night was Jake & Jeanette's jive.

Even OH commented on Brendan's middle, thinks his chest has slipped.

Off subject but just seen highlights of Blades match from yesterday and seen an excellent lift & throw to the floor

Hello Bill, good to see you back, I hope you & Mrs Bill are as well as can be

How's the weather doing in your part of Canada?

Good morning all, dry 16C & very windy here.

BM, Lily & faker George  hope all are better today. Not sure if anyone else is poorly but if so hugs.

Lesley sounded like a good evening if you ignore the food. Yvie nice purchases.

Bet Chicky had a lovely day at Beth's.

Nothing wrong with a night off from cooking Panda.

I watched the dancing and then promptly fell asleep, went to bed at midnight, so if beauty sleep exists I'll look lovely when I look in the mirror

Still think my OH has moved them  Can you get replacements ?

I once lost my gardening trainers, went inside to loo left them on side step, came out and gone  thief must be very needy me thought

NO!!!    My OH had put them away  Shame he's not the same in the garage ..if your thingies are in our garage Dove say bye bye to them  We now have 4 Stanley knives because they all  "got lost " in the garage until I supervised a clear out. Nothing hoarded in the house by me, honestly

Have a good night all.   Yes Lily curry  & dancing.

I seem to be having a few probs with this old computer, new one will be soon, but I keep getting message high CPU usage and I find it hard to delete letters wrongly typed takes for ages so apols for non correction of spellings

Good suggestion Lesley  Maybe in the freezer with all cooked goodies

Think we might keep this going for a while until someone "finds them "

Verdun have you got Dove's thingies?  Any chance they are in the cabin?

Not taken any photos today waiting for Acer Griseum to show Autumn colours then I will have a nice one to post if I don't mess up the photo.
