rosemummy soz to say it isn't the big fat ones that do most of the damage it's the tiny little black beggars that harm my plants & the blue pellets are too large for their greedy little mouths

I'm not sowing mine until the end of April, because when the weather warms they grow so rapidly.

Pruning a magnolia?

Posted: 12/04/2014 at 19:41

BB2 I think Magnolia's need to be in the ground. Doubt it will do much or ever flower even in a big pot. They don't like being pruned and I would only prune for access underneath or to remove dead / diseased growth.

Bill saved you for last

They are seriously lovely cattleyas.

I don't "see" you as becoming frail, the journeys you've done in snow to hospital etc.  Maybe Mrs.Bill is feeling very vulnerable and elderly after your tragic loss. She might feel different when you get some good weather, I hope so. Can't imagine you moving where you have no garden.

I'm going to be blunt here, excuse is I'm a Yorkshire lass  It's got to be joint decision, if you have no garden and activity outdoors won't that have a bigger impact on you both?  Gardener's moan about aches & pains but we feel so good after achieving something outside.

If you do move can't you take your lilies with you?

Fairy I thought gardengirl was bionic, you now have the title.

Talking of Gg I've not seen her since she hit herself with the hammer wrecking pallets. Hope she's okay

Wow you've all been having fun except Dove and me.

Dove you harbour wildlife and do your best and what happens?  Hope it eases soon, I'd need more than a cuppa.

OL glad son home ok and has missed you

Chicky great to cross stuff off your wanted list  Impulse buying and having input into plants  I don't take my undergardener in case he gets ideas. Said in a Nora Batty voice.

Now Mrs Posh..wot you like Stacey ? Showing us up when we have our old furniture stashed in the shed Sounds & looks like you've got some great things, I am not envious at all

Nothing wrong here, just been kneeling down & weeding for ages and planning what to put where from the stuff I need to plant. At least I wasn't attacked by a Q wasp
