Brilliant, thanks everyone for the advice, I'll try raising the pots and watering more, some of them are quite big rose bushes so not keen on repotting those!

I've got several pots with established shrubs in but they are being ruined by ants nesting in them, is there any way of getting rid of the ants and saving the plants?

Cats in my flowerbeds

my god angela, your neighbour sounds horrendous, it is annoying but not worth causing serious harm!!

I've got a really scaredy cat, she only poops in my garden, I'm glad tho, I've got lovely neighbours and would hate that to change. She goes next door but their rabbit chases her back to mine again - embarrassing.

In the past I have found that it is only strong smells that put them off, pepper, garlic, chopped onions etc not nice to sit with that aroma tho

The average gardener

Average is so vague isn't it?

I think anyone;

- who enjoys their garden and knows what they like - a weed is only a plant on the wrong place

- suffers from a little bit of backache on a Monday morning

- knows they've had a great weekend if they've got dirt under their finger nails

- spends more in the garden centre than they do on new clothes

I'm glad to be average!!
