yes, eat it, bit like rhubarb. i went on a foraging course and learnt you can have it raw, like in a salad, cooked, whatever basically and it's very good for you.  so don't kill it. EAT IT!

not seen one ladybird outside this year, but a couple in the house.  saw ONE butterfly today and my first one this year only last week.  loads of bees, though, all swaying on the lavendar, so that's good. lots and lots of starlings but that might be because i feed them raisins.

as an enthusiastic but rubbish gardener, can any one tell me if it's normal for my potato plants to be six feet high and also, when should i dig them up to harvest whatever they've produced. i should add that some of them are flowering now. i cant remember when i planted the seed potatoes but it was before this hot spell ... might have been a couple of months ago. this is my first post, so if i've put it in the wrong place, can someone tell me where it should go, and how to put it there. thanks.
