Gardens to visit

Posted: Yesterday at 23:11

Ok I shall share some of my gardening idea's, experiences thought's from my gardening diaries its just stuff that I write down.I did tune in to watch the good life in the eighties, loved it and that's what got me into self sufficiency. I do make a mental note of the happens on the allotment. When I first went there,I felt like Clint Eastwood, walking into a bar full of the bad guys in those spaghetti westerns quite desends, beady eyes watching my every move,...ten years on last month, nothing has changed.tune in tomorrow night for an exclusive read of the allotment diaries....

There  is a good hotel van dyks on worksop road clowne, chesterfield,Derbyshire, that has invested in a new gardener, and its had a complete overhaul. Sitting in two acres, lavish border's, and it also has a secret garden.the hotel serves very good food as well in summer, and the flower's are grown in its own grounds.they also make their own garden compost and leaf mould.

Yes that's right they do,I would go with a early variety and a late one.pumpkins are great for storing, into the following year.I would recommend growing what you like first and then try other vegetables and fruits.with pumpkins add lots of compost, the more the better in a sunny position. Good luck !

Stinging nettles

Hi,nettles are a great source of nitrogen, if you have a compost heap cut them back hard and put them on there.on the other hand if you don't want them either spray them with round up,or just dig them nettles mean that you have good healthy soil.

Hi,I would say to get rid of the weeds, use a hoe for immediate results.and everytime you visit the allotment go over it again.leave the weeds where they are, because the sun will kill them off and then you could dig them into the soil.grow the vegetables that you really like first, and then try others.if you can set up a compost bin then do that as well good luck, and get in touch anytime.
