Glad my comment was taken in the spirit with which it was intended!

No worries Jess. I know they can get to outgrow themselves after a couple of years!

I just got a Phormium "Yellow wave" to replace a frost killed one and I am in two minds whether to use it for my decking project this year.

I quite fancy a Stipa but the small one seems too small and the big one too big! I I'm only planning to plant in the corners as the deck will be straight onto the lawn with just a small pebble cutting edge. If I had the room I would go for the likes of Rogersia or ligularia "The Rocket" against decking as I've seen it in this situ before and it looks great!

I enjoyed last night's programme but will see it again in HD when I get back home and watch the recording! Hopefully I'll have forgotten all about it by then.

Yes an hour long would be better! I was recently stranded in Spain with no telly but did manage to watch a few old episodes featuring Geoff Hamilton on U-tube!

Hummingbird Hawk Moth

I was pleased to see some Hummingbird HM's on GW last night buzzing round those Buddlejas! Hope my cuttings have taken so I can have a good few of my own!

Are you sure she didn't plant pickled onions?

Sorry, couldn't resist that one! It is such a shame though, the waiting and expectation is bad enough without having them fail.

I hope she was rewarded with some other spring beauties instead.

No 1 looks very yew like to me?

No 4 Miniature Rhododendron?

No 7 Spirea?

Otherwise agree with the rest.

Ask Alan

I'd like to ask Alan if we're any further forward with the problem of Robinia die back that's been plaguing us these last couple of years as I would like to get one?

I did get a Gleditsia Triacanthos "Spectrum" instead (from the Alan Titchmarch collection of course, grovel-grovel) as a replacement but would still like a Robinia.

An ENVY thread....

Would be nice to have lovely weather all year round!

I would envy those with seasons then!
