Ah! Just zoomed in! Didn't know you could do that.

I'll second guess at Lawson's Cypress. The green bit on the left looks a bit bluey.

I had two pet chimpanzees who unfortunately died. I was very fond of them so decided to preserve their memory and took them to a taxidermist to have them stuffed.

"Would you like them mounted Sir" asked the taxidermist?

"No thanks" I said, "holding hands will do!"

One turns to the other and says "Can you smell carrots"?

Did the assistant try and suggest the Echinops were pining for the Fjords?

Good link for RHS which also says to be careful of over application of lawn sand as it can blacken and kill grass also.

I never thought about potting compost being water holding. Explains why mine is keeping it's squelch!

Good tip.

Everedge steel lawn edging?

Posted: 15/01/2014 at 06:22

I got some galvanised lawn edging from e-bay at a fraction of the price.

Gardman do it but there is a no-name version which retails for around £10 for

5m x 160mm (16' 3" x 6.5") which includes delivery.

I got some last year and plan to make a start with it soon. It says it's rot proof and maintenance free but I was thinking of spraying it with hammerite.
