Photos of your ponds please

Posted: 25/02/2014 at 13:01

Im making a new wildlife pond this year and for inspiration I wondered if any of you could post photos of your ponds please? It doesnt matter if yours isn't a wildlife pond, any natural(isn) looking pond photos would be great..

So far, I'm greatly inspired by the photo of this amazing looking pond below, which was posted here recently (sorry, can't remember by who) which I simply love. Any photos will be greatly appreciated

The info above is great, and will help me when I make my pond this summer.

Seed Potato Suppliers

My garden centre doesn't sell Cosmos, but I see that Tuckers do. I assume they are a reputable supplier?

Any suggestions of suppliers for seed potatoes, apart from the usual companies - Marshalls, Unwins etc?

I fancy trying Cosmos this year, and need to order some whilst they are still available.

Thanks.

Thanks very much. I was wondering if the Innes family were living the high life from royalties

Thanks, so can any company put the John Innes name to their compost, assuming the mixture is correct?

Could someone please explain to me how John Innes gets its name?

It should start growing again nearer spring. They flower on the previous years growth, so it might not flower this year, depending on when it was cut back. If it does flower this year, you can prune it back straight after flowering if you want to restrict its growth. If it doesn't flower this year, then prune it by early summer so that it can put on new growth, which will carry next years flowers.

Thanks. I do already have some giant scabious in the garden (white/yellow flower). I never stopped to think it might be a red flowering variety (and didn't know they existed).

I grew a couple from collected seed this year and they were covered in mildew whilst baby plants in the greenhouse, I found bicarbonate of soda solution cured it. But my mature plants grow fine.

If only I knew what it was? I saw one ages ago and have tried to find out its name, then I came across this image...
