Should my toad lily be showing signs of life?

Thank you.  It's in what should be a perfect position in the ground so will keep my fingers crossed.  It gave us such a good display last year that I would be very disappointed if it didn't reappear.  I can always call on the guarantee on the plant I guess.

Should my toad lily be showing signs of life?

I bought a toad lily from Crocus last year - it wasn't overly healthy when it arrived but picked up and gave a fab display at the back end of the summer.  It hasn't shown any signs of life this year.  Am I being impatient or do you think I've lost it over the winter?

What do you do or what did you do at work

....ok, perhaps not.  NHS accountant.  Sorry!   I know most people think I'm just a bean counter, or dreaded NHS management, but somebody has to pay the bills and the doctors and nurses their salaries and wages.

Keep bean counting Tim so that this NHS pill counter can get paid

Thank you.  There are a few of them scattered through the borders and a few at the base of the fig tree.  I think I'll glyphosate gel those around the fig tree and wait to see how those in the borders look with whatever else springs up in them.

Hi all,

I've been fairly sucessful at identifying most things that are coming up in my new garden so far but this one has me scratching my head a little.  I guess it's probably something really common but I don't want to turn the glyphosate on them until I know what it is.

 Thanks, Lil.

Hello, my name is Lil and I am a seedaholic.  My seeds are filed in sowing date order, split into edibles and ornamentals and sow under cover or outdoors .  The squeals of delight are all the louder when the seeds that should have been difficult to germinate take less than 2 weeks. My H2B thinks I'm crazy - if only he knew quite how many packets I have.

Have you sown any seeds yet this year?

Great tits in my nest box on Saturday .  They've been checking it out for weeks.  Thought they'd never get round to going in for a closer look.

No sign of my chillies (after three and a half weeks or so) so new seed sown yesterday.  I sowed some dierama at the same time as the first chillies and bother to mention it because of the one to six months germination time ... two little dieramas seedlings appeared yesterday .

Cost of the hobby of gardening per year?.

I think I spend around £100/year - I recoup quite a bit of this just by growing salad leaves and tomatoes.  I got nearly all this years seed by exchanging club card vouchers. This will be my first full year in my new garden so I'm looking forward to seeing the balance sheet in the autumn.
