Pound shop plants- any success stories?

For those of us that like a bargain, let me tell you about mine last year.  I went to B&Q at the beginning of May and bought seed potatoes that were on offer for 10p per net bag.  The potatoes were past their best and sprouting through the net, but worth a chance for the pennies they cost. I bought 6 bags, and would have got more, but I knew that I would struggle for space in the garden to plant them. I was really imressed with the harvest - quality and quantity - and will definitely try to get a similar deal again this year.

Talkback: How to care for orchids

I had two orchids on a shelf in my lounge and one didn't survive. I mentioned this to a friend, and he said to put the second one in the window and feed it baby bio. Now it is in full sun, the clear pot is inside a ceramic pot, it has produced two stems and is flowering madly. It is the most fabulous plant and I would be interested to know if I can propogate it. Any advice?

I have just planted 3 peanuts from a small kit bought from Aldi. It will be interesting to see how they turn out. I would have liked the video to show how it progresses from a small plant to producing the peanuts.

I've just put separate cloves in pots on my windowsill. All are sprouting. Will I be able to put them outside at this time of year?
