Cut Flowers for September Wedding Bouquet?

Posted: 22/01/2013 at 15:16
Hello Rachel I grow Salvia Evolution or Victoria in my garden and it is usually still good in September. Heliotrope is lovely - purple and scented - cherry pie.Cosmos comes in white - this year I am growing a variety called Antiquity which is a lovely muted colour. For green flowers you could try Lime green Nicotiana or Molucella.I will keep thinking

TRying to choose seeds, already have most but am searching for a pepper seed. They are very small, red and very sweet. You can eat them whole and are delish stuffed with cream cheese. DT Brown have orange ones but I was wondering if anyone has come across these when scouring seed catalogues?

An igloo is being constructed on the green. Kids are shovelling up snow onto sledges and taking it to one of the dad's who is then building.  up about 18 ins now

There are a couple of small peppers here - might not be the ones you are after but thought I would put the link anyway

Your cake looks good Becks  I make jam tarts if I have any pastry left when I am making a pie

The apple cake is just a made up recipe - just a normal cake mix but with some ground almonds a few drops of almond essence and chopped up cox's apples added It smells lovely so I am looking forward to trying it

Good afternoon everyone
I hope your cakes turn out ok Becks
I have just put an apple cake in the oven - will have some with custard for my pud tonight
I am loving all the snowy pics of your gardens and pets
I don' t have snow on my greenhouse with the heater- I turned the heat up a bit as the lowest temp the other night was 3 degrees --a bit too chilly for my cuttings
I hope everyone is keeping warm

Good afternoon everyone  You are making me nervous talking about all this weather - I popped into Sainsburys this morning for milk and bread but am intending to do my 'big shop' as usual tomorrow I hope we don't get snow

Barry is amusing himself by knocking the downstairs bathroom to bits - about time - we have had the new toilet, basin and shower base in our bedroom for about 4 years

I am having fun ordering all my seeds and plants

Keep warm

Could be- perhaps try to just half fill the tin and see what happens the only other thing that makes cakes sink is using too much baking powder but your recipe didn't mention baking powder.
Did you make your scones?
