I love the scent from Wallflowers on a warm Spring day - now is the time to plant them

I buy our plants bare rooted as it is a much cheaper option for us - this year I phoned to see if the plants were available and was taken aback to be told that all the plants had rotted in the field due to the weather and the only plants available were in pots

Luckily I managed to source some from elsewhere - these plants are quite small but I am hoping they will grow away quickly

I haven't grown Wallflowers in containers but can't see any reason not to - dwarf varieties would probably be more suitable than the really tall ones

Here are some flowers from last year

Lovely photos Gary and Chris

I phoned the surgery to make an appointment for my flu jab - I had a text message the other day  reminding me - was told I have to wait about 2 weeks as they have run out

Horrid murky day here - I have put the washing on,cleared out a cupboard in the kitchen -things were starting to fall out when I opened the door  Just going to do a bit of ironing now

Was reminiscing about Wombles and spam fritters with one of my Sons at the weekend - now I fancy spam fritters for tea Haven't had spam for years

Good Morning Everyone

Even though I grow lots of Chillies I don't eat many - I just love growing them  I give most away  . Yesterday I made some roasted pepper and butternut squash soup - it was lovely  Delia's recipe using chicken, peppers, rice etc. is very good

I can't believe it is friday already- off to Sainsburys and Waitrose this morning.

Have a good day
