I water my houseplants well but remove  any water that has collected in the bottom of the outer pot. Then I don't water again until the plant wilts a bit or the pot feels light and the compost dry on top  Maybe the roots aren't getting enough water

We have sunshine ,too

I have been looking through some old photos and came across one of our back garden about 20 years ago. Do you have any before and afters? I would love to see them

Talkback: How to grow tomatoes in growing bags

I cut the bottoms out of flower buckets and sit them on top of the grobags- I fill the bucket with more compost. I also only plant 2 plants per grobag.

I am not keen on using slug pellets unless I really have to - well- something was lurking in my greenhouse on the shelf somewhere. It munched 4 tomato plants leaving just the stalk, enjoyed 3 Celeriac seedlings then for pudding 6 Ageratum seedlings

I searched every tray and nook and cranny but couldn't find the culprit so resorted to putting some slug pellets around. Next morning there was the huuugest big black slug dead! They are very good at hiding aren't they!!!!

Barry is itching to get back down the allotment to put his potatoes and seeds in

David - your garden is beautiful

Wintersong - your photos are gorgeous - I love the poppy

Today one minute it is raining ,the next minute the sun is shining - there was the most beautiful rainbow at 7am this morning

Inka - I hope your finger feels better soon

Hell Christine - What a lovely idea  My first thought is Annuals - poppies, cornflowers, calendula, candytuft etc. If they don't flower this year they may early next year. Others will probably come up with better suggestions

is lemon balm also known as lemongrass?

Hello Grant - Lemon Balm is a totally different plant to Lemon Grass

This is Lemon Balm

http://www.victoriananursery.co.uk/herb_plants/lemon_balm_plant/

and this is Lemon Grass

http://www.victoriananursery.co.uk/herb_plants/lemon_grass_east_indian_plant/

Lemon Balm is very easy to grow and spreads quite quickly.

I grew some Lemon grass from the pieces you can buy in a supermarket and it can be grown from seed.

Hope this helps
