Glad you've had a great Birthday RB. I arrived too late for the party so I've bought my unopened tequila and tub of cheese football's home.😀

Hi Pat, glad you slept well after yesterday's heat, not great having bad dreams though, at least you can't remember the details, but it's no fun awakening in a panic, fight or flight mode. I've done that many times after scary dreams, they seem so real then you get the slow realization you're safe in bed, over active brain l expect. What's your weather going to be like today? We are expecting snow but l bet that will only fall on the moors (Dartmoor or Exmoor) and we'll get rain.

Amelanchier Robin Hil

I did consider a lamarkii amelanchier shrub/tree, Cottage Compost, they are beautiful. My garden isn't that big, so l want a tree with a single trunk this time. The lilac it is replacing was multi-stemmed and took up a lot of space. It did well for many years, but needed the numerous suckers it produced pulling out often. It went a bit rotten in between its thick stems so it had to go. It is good to know yours is so healthy and that you enjoy it so much.

Kitty, l thought I'd only have girls, my brothers have five girls between them. He was a pleasant surprise. I was sure my daughter was going to be another boy because l was as sick and the same shape as before. So she was a lovely surprise too. Taught me not to listen to well meant old wives tales too. My daughter went into the next size babygros, broad shoulders, long legs. Now 5'7" and a size 10. Not at all like me. She's now at uni, thank goodness for Skype.
