Hi Philippa

Sorry to read your daughter is ill Pentillie, I hope things are getting better a few months on from your post.

Yey glad your still here, been away too long but unfortunately last year lived up to the 2013 and more the unlucky 13!  Oh well, onwards and upwards.

Sorry about my blank post I thought I had replied last night with my wonderful iphone thingy but I guess I've not quite mastered all of its functions yet.

I was quite busy in the garden last year with a few new project completed but caused myself a few dilemmas ready for this year but with the help I got here last year I'm sure I'll figure them out.

Really glad to read everything's happy in the garden

Oh no .  I've been away for some time and came to rekindle some lovely old friends to find this and that they are no longer here.

OW started the seed swap last year and we had some great fun, such a shame.... Back to the books then I guess (

Thats a great website DougB, and your allotment and plan look like they'll keep you busy this year, lllets hope we have a better growing year than last.

Busy Lizzie, your picture brings the sunshine and makes me itch more for spring, what a lovely plot.

Gardengirl my garden looks pretty similar to your at the mo, we had about 9" of snow yesterday and its coming down this morning too but its funny watching the blackbird s romping around in it, glad I filled my feeds yesterday =)

I'm quite lucky and have french doors that look out onto my garden so I can sit in the warmth of the house and daydream, although when its not too cold I'm always outside.  I have made so many mistakes being impatient I have decided to take a step back this year and plan rather than just doing it.

Verdun what a good question, I think maybe a balance, the structure and longevity of perennials and shrubs, but I also like to profussion of colour and variety with annuals, although I onlly use annuals in my baskets and tubs.

Thanks Happymarion I really mjissed my fix of gardening tv over December and found myself watching past episodes of monty which I had recorded lol.

My OH bought me Carols book 'Grow your own garden' for christmas and its really good, especially like the way she shows everything step by step, I haven't had much success in the past propogating and taking cuttings but I'm certainly going to have another go this year.  the book also introduced me to the lovely Crambe cordifolia which I am definately going to source for my garden this year.
