Thanks all. Just to compound my display of ignorance, am i right that I just take the heads off? Not the whole stem.

Afternoon All

As a newbie to gardening can anyone offer me some advice on the Purpurkerze I have in my garden?

Throughout the spring into summer it has beautiful purple candles and large volumes of green foliage and then it turns brown. I kept them as I think they look quite nice.

Now springs approaching should I cut them down, heads off etc to promote new growth.

Apologies for the ignorance!

Any help appreciated.

regards

Heuchera 'Lime Marmalade' help!

Posted: 16/06/2014 at 21:14

Evening all

Just looking for some advice on some Heuchera Lime Marmalades I've planted in my garden along the border.

I planted them last August and they looked great until a couple of months ago. Of the 7 all but two have flowered and now look pretty sad for themselves. The border is against a 2 metre fence and is easterly facing. Lot of sun until about 3pm, then shaded. The pics I've included show how close the healthy one is to the withered one. I thought these were hardy plants. Soil is moist and slightly clay based.

Any help much appreciated as they look great in the garden and I don't really want to lose them.

Thanks in advance for any help.

regards

Lloyd

Feeding Clematis

Afternoon all

I have 3 or 4 clematis plants crawling over my pagoda at the bottom of my garden. I have a north facing garden and was just wondering if there's anything I could give them to help them along this spring/summer!

Any help appreciated.

Cheers.

Identification of Tree!!

Posted: 11/04/2013 at 13:22

Afternoon all

Can anyone help me out and name the tree that dwells in my garden? Trying to learn a bit more about what lingers in my green space!! It turns pinkish in April/may and then green leaves through the summer falling off in November.

Any help appreciated.

I think I'll extend the border a bit to give me options and I like the idea of a tree in the corner.

As for the colour, I'm thinking this means time investment and as having 2 under 2 kids its somthing I haven't got a lot of. We do have a pagoda at the bottom which we are putting pots in that will give the explosion effect and also have well established clematis crawling all over it. Last summer was left and was amazed at the flowering until my neice cut the heads off them all and presented them to me as confetti!

Thanks again all.

Have a good day!!!!
