Good to hear you had a lovely day in my favourite holiday destination. Much too cold here to potter. Did go out and defrost the bird bath a few times and fed the birds. Roll on spring !

climbing hydrangea help ?

Hi Marion. We have quite a large one growing up the house wall in our back garden. The only thing I ever do to it is cut back branches that threaten to grow over our doors in early spring. I leave the dead flower heads on to protect the new shoots a bit. These also get cut off in early spring (those I can reach ). Cannot be doing too much wrong as it is very healthy. I love it. Hope this helps.

Talkback: New Year resolutions for the garden

I too feel like digging out and starting again, but time and funds are not on my side. Last summer was not good for me and the garden as we had a very boisterous dog and a bird loving cat staying with us for the whole summer ! I also was unwell for a time and the garden was neglected. This year will be different. I intend to be out there as much as I can and use the secateurs more. I dont help plants by not cutting back as much as I should.

Hi funkywhiteboy. Blackbirds seldom feed from feeders. They are ground feeding birds. They also love berries.
