Egg idenification

Good point LG - got to keep it in perspective. . . . but don't we just hate it when those pesky slimey creatures gorge on our lovely new shoots.  There's no mistaking them when they're mature so they won't get away with their behaviour for long!

Egg idenification

Hi everyone, I have just been weeding my garden and have come across some small eggs in the soild.  Initially, I assumed they would be slug eggs (I had come across a few whilst weeding) and removed them.  Then I considered they may be worm eggs, (as there were a number of these too) which I obviously want to keep.  I have 'googled' both types of eggs and am still none the wiser.  Just wondered if anyone out there could help identify these eggs.  Thanks.

Is my Bramley Apple Tree dead?

Posted: 23/04/2013 at 19:06

Neither is my 'ancient' apple tree in leaf yet - but I can see fresh buds beginning to appear.  It sounds to be in similar condition to yours Heafybeafy - bark peeling off, poor fruit.  I trimmed it in January hoping it may help.  Alas, if it doesn't buck up it will probably get the heave-ho soon.  So interested to hear what response you get about your tree.

Hi Michelle,  If you haven't done so already you may get a better response if you post a new thread.  Sorry I won't be any help to you as I'm a novice too. Good luck

I watched one collection day, from my bedroom window and all recycling went in the same section.  Maybe it was a mistake by the collectors on that occassion.   In which I case I can accept human error - it was early in the morning!

Thanks for the link Dove - always welcome a cake / pudding recommendation

Will give it a go when my newly planted rhubarb gets established - or maybe raid my parents garden in the meantime!

Thanks for sharing your course info with us Artjak.  Will be awaiting you next instalment with interest.  We use our recycling bins, which are collected fortnightly, but I have always been sceptical about what actually gets recycled.  Maybe it depends on the area you live.  We are given a box for glass & tins and another box for plastic & cardboard, but when its collected its all thrown in together??  So I am interested to know how they separate it again.  Its also irritating that we go to the trouble of separating it for it all to be mixed up.
