Runner bean quandry

Posted: 22/04/2013 at 17:21

We did this recently at Cubs as part of scientist badge - you can use those large square washing up sponges (spontex or similar) instead of blotting paper, and grow in plastic document wallets. It means the kids can see the bean shoot and root. You need to put a row of staples or similar across the bag so that the beans don't sit in the water and rot. Worked very well.

Everything too wet here, its pouring. And there was a clap of thunder a little while ago. Glad I didn't go out.

Pam that sounds about right for the netting on the trees - its all up one end of the car park, looks very odd (and not small trees we're talking about). Didn't know there were plans to extend the store, but I'm not surprised.

Awwhh, Geoff - I bet that baby's all grown up now!

Am guessing Bunny can't move too far west or she will be in the sea!

Am thinking it might get noisy here soon when work starts on the new Asda they are building right next door. New access road is being built at the moment - just seems to be lots of mud! And confusing - new access road going off to the right, so why are they digging on the left?? No doubt all will become clear at some stage.

Would love to go to the Malvern show, but I doubt I will make it.

If any forkers ever go to Wisley do let me know so we can meet for a cuppa!

Hello all, happy St Paddy's Day!

Am taking son. no 3 to work in a minute - he didn't see the rugby yesterday so I won't tell him the score - more than my life's worth!

Then I will be sowing seeds and watching Grand Prix.

Pam, I've been to a sing along Sound of Music too - such fun!

Morning forkers - wow that was some party last night. Sorry I couldn't make it. Wouldn't mind some of that breakfast though, looks yummy.

Have taken OH to work, and son no. 2. Will take son no. 3 in a couple of hours as he starts at lunchtime. Then over to visit brother and grandad.

Will have to record the rugby so son no. 3 and I can watch it later. Weather is horrible here - raining and blowing a gale.

Been keeping updated with goings on, just not in the mood for posting on here. But you lot are mental.

Bunny, by the time you've factored in petrol costs it might be cheaper to get your seed potatoes delivered!

Son no. 3 did the pyjama thing at college last year - got on the train in pj's, dressing gown and slippers.

Love my pj's - got two new pairs for Mothers Day!
