We had more snow this evening but it seems to have stopped now. Good thing too, it was starting to settle on the roads and we don't want that! I might not be able to get to work, and that would be a tragedy.

Am recording Allotment Wars. Off to bed now. Night all.

Bjay, forgot to say earlier, I climbed those hills once, a long time ago, to watch the sun come up.

Heating engineer needs a part apparently, and will be back tomorrow.

I wonder how Yvie is too, she never came onto these boards did she?

I've just won an auction on ebay - a plate to hang on the wall.

Good news is the heating engineer has been - bad new is the radiators are still cold! Not sure what is happening as I didn't see or speak to him.

My mum always had a bottle of witch hazel in the medicine cupboard. And a bottle of TCP and a tin of Germolene. All injuries got treated with one of the three. These days Germolene comes in a tube.

Its not too bad now as the electric plug in radiator is putting out quite a bit of heat - just need to keep the doors shut! I've put my foot warmer on as well. And I realised I have no right to complain when son no. 1 works in a garage and they are open to the elements! He wears a couple of layers of thermals then other clothes on top.

Jo, what is today's snack? Are you sharing?

Trouble is I'm actually in the warmest part of the building - my office is upstairs. Colleagues downstairs are in colder areas than me so I can't really wimp out. I am not good at coping with cold - never have been!

I don't have a thermometer here and also don't know what the legal minimum temperature is.

Hot chocolate is nice though!

Morning all forkers. I am not happy. The heating has packed up at work, caused by a fault code on the boiler (a complicated one that nobody knows how to work!) I've called the engineer and he's going to be here in 24-48 hours!!!

Doesn't help that we had thick frost this morning, all the snow that was left is now compacted into ice.

I have a small plug in radiator in my office but its not enough. My hands are freezing. Going to go and get a mug of hot chocolate now.

Bjay, do what I did - have an afternoon tea party (in the summer!) - was a chance to get out my 2 tea sets plus a friend's one! I'm tempted to do it again this year. Normally we use mugs.

Becks, I'd like a mug of hot chocolate, pretty please! I am a polite customer.

Bjay, light the wood burner and have a snooze in front of it!

Jo, I have been known to use a hairdryer to get my freezer defrosted quicker. But its a good time of year to do it as you can just put everything outside. There are always escaped peas in my freezer.

Morning all. Although we had fine snow all day yesterday the roads are still clear (well, main roads anyway, getting out of the estate was a challenge) so I'm at my desk. And am freezing! I have a feeling the heating goes off over the weekend. Radiators are on full blast but I don't think there's any insulation in this building.

Hope the trip to the airport got sorted Bjay!

Keep warm everyone. Next weekend will be considerably warmer if the forecasters are right.

Night Kate. Hope you get to go back to bed in the morning! I don't think I will get that option. Might get a text but I doubt it.

Son no. 2 cooked a lovely dinner, but I think there's still some clearing up to do. He's not very good at that bit.

And the bath got resealed, but not very well. There was much swearing. But at least now it should be watertight.

Off to bed now anyway. NIght all.
