I am going to the cinema tonight with my very good friend. She's the one who's a garden fanatic and makes beautiful glass garden ornaments - in her spare time! She works in the smoke.

Will report back on the film tomorrow!

Jo, can't you tell him to hide the cake from you? I hide things if I don't want the boys (or OH) to scoff them!

FC, Happy New Year to you too. Don't worry about not having anything to write about - doesn't stop us! Good that you're feeling better and contribute all you want to!

Jo, as you say you obviously needed it! Sleep is very beneficial. Wish I could go and have some now!

So long as there's enough snow to stop me going to work - and not just a pathetic little bit thats barely enough for a snowball, but enough to cause traffic chaos!

And yes you're right Bjay - we've had snow the last 3 winters so what's the big deal?

Have read this morning on the Daily Mail Online (and therefore it must be true) that the Met office are now saying global warming doesn't exist, or something. Well call me cynical but I always doubted it anyway. It seems there have always been temperature fluctuations over time.

As for the snow, BBC weather site says there won't be any and the other site says there will. So am none the wiser!

Inka, glad you enjoyed Downton! And I hope the road gets mended soon - doesn't sound fun trying to negotiate that with shopping.

Dove, nothing wrong in selling the story if it helps them recoup some of what they've lost.

Becks, I like your optimism, and your mini BBQ!

Have looked at two weather forecasts for the next few days and over the weekend - one says daytime temperatures of 4 to 5 degrees, the other is saying daytime temperatures of -4 to -5 degrees! I'm hoping the first one has it right!

Geoff, if its a buyer go and nab him and get him to look round your house instead!

How's the decluttering going? Or is that being left to Mrs Geoff?

They do have something very similar to B&Q but I can't remember what its called. They have Lidl too!

Good job you got dressed when you did, Becks! And nice of them to do the guttering for you.

Bjay, get some for me while you're there - thanks! Just pop it in my cyberlocker!

Flo, good for you. I think I need to cut down somewhat at the moment. Its easier now all the Christmas goodies have been eaten up.

Becks, go outside and shout some encouragement to the sun - you never know what might happen!

Am back at my desk today - not feeling 100% but a lot better than the last few days. Just have that feeling that someone's wrapped my head in cotton wool. Not sure what's been going on here but there's some odd stuff on my desk - things not done properly by the looks of things!

Not foggy here but very grey and miserable.

Whole family back to work today as well. Hope son no. 3 remembers to get up and go to work.

Hope everyone has a productive day.
