Very windy here, s'cuse me!

A bloke at the allotments came and asked my advice at lunchtime! He's a newbie so I guess I'm now considered an old hand!!

Inka, that cheesecake sounds delicious, you might need to post the recipe!

Pam, the new Asda will be quite a bit bigger than the Maybury one, you can look at the plans on the council website under planning applications if you're interested. I had a look yesterday. I can forsee traffic being a problem - its already a bottleneck getting in and out of here!

The boys had chicken for dinner last night!

One of my chickens is still laying but the others have decided to call it a day, might have to resort to buying eggs!

25 years ago I was living in a house called Tall Timbers. After the storm we nicknamed it 'Stumps'. OH's car got flattened between two massive pines - he thought about moving it but at the last minute decided not to, thank goodness!!

Geoff, will be there Friday evening for my apples!

Cauliflower cheese followed by apple crumble (if there's any left!)

Kate, the new Asda won't be unpopular with me! Not sure about the houses nearby though. This area is half housing and half industrial so its a bit odd really. Got a while to wait yet as its only at the planning stage.

I get masses of little oak trees growing on my plot due to the large oak on the next plot. They are a nightmare - tough little things!

I have watched a few films recently - not at the cinema though! Bridesmaids was very funny and entertaining, Eagle Eye was very good (thriller type) and Prometheus was pants!

Managed a quick trip to the plot in between the showers - and the frost has got the courgette, squash and pumpkin plants - I thought it would. Glad I harvested when I did!

Geoff, I'm looking forward to those apples!

Hello all, just caught up with most of the posts! Had to skim a few because you'd posted so many!

Geoff - I told you I'd take those apples off your hands - hope you saved me some! I was given a bag of cooking apples by a friend at the weekend - so made a crumble yesterday, and have cream and custard available!

Was just about to go to the plot but its paining.

Been looking online at the plans for the new Asda they will be building next door. Its huge!!!

I harvested my pumpkins and squashes at the weekend, not a bad crop but the butternuts are rather small. Will post a picture if I can get the camera/computer to co-operate!

Geoff - no entourage, just me and OH. I had some Avios points to use (use them or lose them) so we decided on a weekend away but didn't want to travel too far. The plan is to visit some local attractions - OH has Beaulieu in mind. We have a hotel booked for 2 nights next weekend (as in a week today)!!

I opened today's post at work to find that the council have written to us about planning permission - ASDA want to build a store practically next door! Yes please, would be so convenient! Not sure the houses down the road will be too impressed though.

Am planning on going for afternoon tea, Gary - the T-Rex suit may not fit in the tea shop!

Inka are you doing a rain dance to celebrate?

Becks, I grew both - most of the earlies have been eaten (apart from a few I just dug up), and the main crop are now dug and ready to store in paper sacks.

I would look good in leopard print!

I have been digging. Why is it that however carefully you dig up your potatoes you always miss some? Just re- dug some of that area and found quite a few!

Also found quite a few enormous worms.

Tomorrow I'm hoping to persuade OH to visit the plot with me to carry home the potatoes and pumpkins. They're heavy!

Will shop for the onesie later!
