I think you might be right Kate. Hitting a deer can make a very big dent in the car. Not sure the deer like it much either!

Our cat was from a loving home, we had him from a kitten. His mum was a domestic cat but he was 'father unknown' and he definitely had some feral cat in him - he'd quite like to be made a fuss of then when he'd had enough he'd let you know with a quick bite! Anyway after having lived with us for 5 years he moved next door and has lived there ever since. He's now 12, and occasionally comes over and sunbathes on our drive but won't come in because of the dog.

I saw this recently - 'Once upon a time, humans used to worship cats. Cats have never forgotten this'.

Gary, pumpkin is like a lot of veg - delicious when cooked the right way (and horrible if not)! I make thai style pumpkin soup with the inners of the halloween pumpkins, with leeks, chili, coconut milk & coriander, and its always very popular. My SIL makes pumpkin pie, I think with condensed milk - yummy. I like courgettes unless my mother has cooked them! I don't like marrow.

I have eaten rabbit - my gran used to make rabbit stew, and I've also eaten horse by mistake when we lived in Belgium (and it was nice...)..

Jean, I love that - I shall try to create something like that with my Halloween pumpkin! One of my pumpkins must have cross-pollenated with another squash as I have a mottled green pumpkin - it looks rather lovely. And for those of you who remember what happened last year, thankfully this one is growing on the plot!

I agree, lets not mention C******* until after Halloween.

Hello all! The party went off really well, Grandad had a lovely day with loads of cards including the all important one from Her Maj - with a nice picture of her on it. Loads of family and it was all a bit chaotic but it was lovely to see everyone and catch up.

And I learned something from Grandad - what's a goblet? A little bit of spit!

Will check to make sure the worms are being well looked after. Nothing wrong with chatting to worms, Jo - I chat to plants! Off to do a quick harvest at the plot now, and then home.

I'm sure I could take good care of the worms - but at the moment Akela has them and I fear for their safety. Might just drop a few hints about giving them a bit of compost or something.

Kate, Grandad would LOVE to see ladies in speedos!! I'd be worried he'd get too excited though, so perhaps not!

Invites should be in your cyber lockers. Fancy dress optional but clothing of some sort essential. Belly dancing outfits, white joggers and speedos all acceptable.

I think I'm with Ann Diamond as well. There are more important issues than one silly schoolgirl and one stupid ex-teacher - as nobodys going to employ him as a teacher again.

Geoff - they couldn't see eye to eye?

Oh no the worms have turned up today! I wonder if they will be alright until next Thursday?

Flo - neither am I but I make an exception when its p**ing down! When will you be posting a picture of yourself in the belly dancing kit??

I had leg warmers too!!

Coffee crisis is now averted, and I have also shopped for my contribution to the 100th birthday party food. The party is on Sunday.

Flo a tip for coping with the hood - wear a baseball cap underneath. It may not look elegant but it works - have used this on many wet camps!

Don't you just love the smell of wet dog!!

The coffee crisis is not sorted - but will be shortly. Worms are coming from wiggly wrigglers or somewhere - because we don't have enough time to go and dig up 20 worms for each Cub! I don't mind because my compost will get the leftovers.

Will write my wish list now Pam and send it off to you.
