There should always be cake. Maybe we should have formed a cricket team instead - I hear they have good teas!

Am off to camp on Friday for a long weekend - and there's always plenty of cake.

You lot crack me up, I'm not supposed to be sitting at my desk giggling!

But yes, I have two whistles - does that qualify me as trainer? Don't know huge amounts about football but I can sort some good training exercises. Run up the pitch, kick a ball into a goal, run back, sit down for 20 mins with a cup of tea and a slice of cake.

I think Pam ought to be a cheerleader as well, she can wave pompoms.

Gary, keep us updated on the boat activity.

Mmm, egg and chips! With a blob of ketchup on the side.

Inka, makes it more exciting when you don't know what colour things will be - unless its the wrong colour for your planting scheme.

I am missing all the Lympic action - going to work gets in the way of so many important things! I am relying on you guys to keep me informed.

Geoff, you need to keep a window open nearest the neighbour house so that you can be alerted to any comings and goings. Alternatively, bribe the estate agents!

Gary, thanks for that. I saw that bit - the Japanese chap's messy dismount, and I'd have marked him down as well. Lets face it, he did mess up. But as you say we are decent chaps and sporting - and I think the team were thrilled to get a medal. Fingers crossed it all goes really well for the girls team.

Peter was the one who made a teeny tiny mistake and it cost them a medal. Poor thing. Its tough at the top.

I say scoan because I say stone, but OH says sconne - I think its a regional thing - I'm a southerner and he's a northerner, or tries to tell me he is.

Lovely photos Jean!

Can someone explain to me how we had silver for gymnastics and then didn't? Well done to the gymnastics team anyway - fantastic! Heard them being interviewed on the radio this morning.

I'm glad they got that 'troll', I can't understand what makes people decide to be so unpleasant.

I watched that 15 year old girl (Lithuanian?) get a gold in swimming last night - and she was just speechless after, bless her. Then I saw the chinese girl swim (didn't see her the other day - wow, she's fast!)

And I wasn't intending to watch much of it!

Satay sauce for the chicken?

Not sure what's on my menu for this evening. I bought a piece of beef brisket in the supermarket yesterday - was reduced at the butcher counter. Recipes anyone??

People carrying on loud arguments are just inviting you to eavesdrop on them!

Yes Jenny I do have boys - aged 23, 21 and 19. They are hard work and show no signs of leaving home! Youngest is still causing me sleepless nights.

I often have biscuits for breakfast. Cake can be eaten at any time, day or night.

That tomato looks like it could be a whole meal for Geoff and Mrs Geoff!

I could just hurl the leylandii branches over the fence! But I think I will probably just take them to the tip and not worry about it. Might ask my other neighbour who also shares a border with them and has the same problem. Sounds confusing but because of the way the houses are I have 3 next door neighbours!
