I will apologise in advance but I just have to say it!  'What a difference a day makes!'

Cool and cloudy here and drizzly now. Won't be going to the plot this lunchtime as I need to go into town but I wouldn't have wanted to go anyway!

Not tried balsamic on strawberries, so I will give that a try. OH always puts black pepper on fresh pineapple when he has some. Its strange the things that go together.

Kate and I also grew the same nastertiums as Geoff, and mine look exactly like that (surprise surprise) - but they don't look like the illustration which showed them as cream with a dark red splodge. Never mind, still unusual. I have the normal almost flourescent orange ones at the plot, also good for salads!

it is hot here - I am too hot and its not even coffee break time. This is worrying as my office gets hotter as the day goes on.

I have loads of strawberries, can't eat them fast enough. Will share if anyone wants to come and get some.

I was on TV with Charlie Dimmock once - and I had a hat on.

Going to meet OH at Asda now - such an exciting life I lead!!

Its warm here too Inka, kind of sticky and humid though, and cloudy. Makes a change from it blowing a gale!

I don't think Geoff played fair, he should have stuck to the designated uniform!

I can't get the site to upload a picture - but then I'm not the most technically minded person in the world.

Has been dry so far so I expect Geoff has been able to see some tennis - no doubt we will get a full match report tomorrow!

Went to the plot at lunchtime and something had left a big smelly poo by the shed - and it could well have been a hedgehog - so I shan't complain provided it keeps eating the slugs!

I discovered our back door had been unlocked all afternoon the other day, when nobody was in except Alfie. Good job nobody came calling as he would have licked them into submission!

I don't cut the grass, OH does, and the council never cut the bit they are supposed to, and haven't done so in 20 years. Can I ask for a refund on my council tax?

The village fete was ok to start off with, the parade was good but after that the heavens opened, and I was very glad of my gazebo. Some of the events in the arena got cancelled - the gymnastics for instance, and the man offering tractor rides got fed up and went home (on his tractor). But most things went ahead ok and I even managed to pick up a hardy fuschia from the plant stall for £1.50!

Some sad news, Daisy chicken died on Friday night. She wasn't got by anything as she was just lying in the run so it looks like natural causes. So we now have 4 chickens. Then yesterday someone left the chicken house door open and the girls came out and Alfie was in the garden, but he didn't go near them - probably as they are almost as big as he is now!

Remember going tadpole fishing and my little brother throwing a strop because 'the tadpoles won't swim into my net!'

Horribly windy here, I have a feeling that the party tent may have taken off and left the garden of its own accord - it has to go to the fete tomorrow so we didn't bother packing it all away.

I might attempt to sow some carrots but I never seem to have much success with them. My beans are struggling to get up the poles, normally they shoot away.

My friend on the IOW says its a disaster there and don't go under any circumstances - the festival fields are totally waterlogged. People are being told to leave their cars in Portsmouth - not sure where exactly!

I think Glastonbury was cancelled this year because the Queen had organised a party and the dates clashed.....
