Not stopped at all here so it was a wet dash to let the girls out this morning, accompanied by Alfie who thought it was fun to jump up and put muddy paws on my pale jeans.

Jo, how come you've managed to have some dry weather? This is very strange - next people will be telling me the sun is shining in Cornwall!

Geoff, I have two broody hens - they just keep sitting on the other hens eggs which I just keep taking away - is this the right approach I wonder?

Just so long as I'm not the poison dwarf!

Kate, my boss doesn't believe in letting people go early even if the entire sky is falling. We only go early when he's not here!

Sounds like you need a shed equipped with power tools where you can make 'stuff'.

OH phoned me a little earlier and asked if I'd gone to the plot today. What does he think I am? A duck?

I'm with you Flo. Can do the practical stuff but fail on the tidying stuff.

I needed a wet suit and waders to get to work this morning, it was diabolical.

Kate, so sorry to hear about OH's accident - hope its all sorted soon.

Another (rude word ending in up) on the birthday front - there is no birthday cake. I was told this was sorted, but son no. 2 found out yesterday it wasn't. The response of the party organiser? 'oh, who's making it then?'

I need capable people around me. Kate? You busy?

OH and I have done that - the oh I thought he was with you! It was horrible but no harm done.

I have been busy baking today. Four banana and chocolate loaves and one chocolate cake. They smell delicious but of course can't be consumed yet. I have also washed (and dried on the line) some curtains. I am determined the house will look lovely! OH has taken on some of the tasks as we have decided not to rely on the friend in case there are more diisasters like the party invites! He has spent the afternoon scanning old photos of me - I think I should be concerned about this! But off to iron the curtains now - and watch last night's recorded GW.

yes lovely and warm, I even got a bit brown.

Mondays are always lovely and sunny. Especially when it has poured with rain all weekend.

Kate, same with my nastertiums - not the creamy colour I was hoping for.

I am brave, so have awarded myself another toffee eclair.

Out of interest, when is the next heatwave?

That's easy - both! I have chocolate eclairs, the toffee kind.

'Braved' the allotment, got caught in one shower but got some useful stuff done so worth nearly being blown away. Also rescued the lid of the coldframe from in the potato bed. Plus picked a handful of strawberries before the slugs managed to get them.

Forgot to say, Mrs Goldfinch is now in residence on the nest. Mr Goldfinch is lurking nearby. Luckily where they have constructed the nest its sheltered from the elements. She is sitting 3 inches from the edge of my bedroom window. I need a nest-cam!
