Rudbeckia and Echinacea

Posted: 19/06/2014 at 14:36

I've got a number of rudbeckia and Echinacea plants and have been trying to put them in clumps but I now can't tell which is which. Is there any way to tell them apart before they flower?

Tried both those and neither came up with anything! Guess just not around this year. Shame, such a nice plant.

Peach leaf curl

Pot probably did get saturated in the winter but it is good free draining soil and the pot is on stilts. Tree seems firm in pot. Will wait a bit and hope it shows sign of life. I've given it some seaweed feed. How do you know if you have vine weevils without leaves?

Yes good idea!  trouble is the little blighters only come out at night. Need to borrow a dog to let loose every half an hour through the night!

Peach leaf curl

I have a young peach I put in a large pot on my patio and it did well last year although towards the end of the summer it did have a little bit of leaf curl. I thought it wasn't too bad so left it, but this year the tree has yet to do anything at all, no leaves, nothing. Is it dead?

Rabbits!

The RHS has a great list of plants that rabbits don't like. My rabbits disagree with some on that list but generally it's a great help. However, they do like digging up plants (for no apparent reason that I can find). I have a row of lavender and they are constantly digging them up although they don't eat them. Would love to find a way of stopping them digging up the plants so they can have a chance at growing!

Ipomoea Iposun Black Tone

I bought an Ipomoea Iposun black tone last year and loved it. I think they are called ornamental sweet potato. It was a great plant and I really loved it but didn't realise it was tender and so didn't dig it up in the winter. Now it's gone and I can't find another one anywhere. Does anyone have any ideas where I could find one please?

Thanks so much both of you, that's exactly it. Very beautiful and unusual when it's in flower which I guess isn't that long but still! thank you!

This tree is in the gardens of Petworth House and looks amazing now (May). Does anyone know what it is?
