Peach leaf curl

Posted: 08/05/2014 at 07:30

I have a young peach I put in a large pot on my patio and it did well last year although towards the end of the summer it did have a little bit of leaf curl. I thought it wasn't too bad so left it, but this year the tree has yet to do anything at all, no leaves, nothing. Is it dead?

Rabbits!

Posted: 08/05/2014 at 07:27

The RHS has a great list of plants that rabbits don't like. My rabbits disagree with some on that list but generally it's a great help. However, they do like digging up plants (for no apparent reason that I can find). I have a row of lavender and they are constantly digging them up although they don't eat them. Would love to find a way of stopping them digging up the plants so they can have a chance at growing!

Ipomoea Iposun Black Tone

I bought an Ipomoea Iposun black tone last year and loved it. I think they are called ornamental sweet potato. It was a great plant and I really loved it but didn't realise it was tender and so didn't dig it up in the winter. Now it's gone and I can't find another one anywhere. Does anyone have any ideas where I could find one please?

Thanks so much both of you, that's exactly it. Very beautiful and unusual when it's in flower which I guess isn't that long but still! thank you!

Holes in lawn

sounds like rabbits to me. I've got them too and they are forever digging holes!

This tree is in the gardens of Petworth House and looks amazing now (May). Does anyone know what it is?

Sycamore seedlings

I'd love to cut my neighbours' sycamore down with a chainsaw, think they may have something to say about it! Oh and have plenty of rabbits too. They don't know that they are not supposed to eat half the stuff they eat. No-one seemed to tell them that they don't like laurel or hebe or rose, pesky little things!

Thanks Jim and Verdun. Glad I don't have to worry about the lawn and I'll definitely look at getting at Swoe Hoe! Thanks

Sycamore seedlings

My neighbour has a sycamore tree which unfortunately overhangs a bit of my garden. Normally this is not a problem but this year I seem to have a million zillion seedlings all growing strongly in my flowerbed and on the lawn.

I will pick them all out of the flowerbed (my back aches thinking of it) but do I need to worry about the lawn, as will just mowing the grass keep them in check?

Anything else I should be doing to get rid of them?

Seems all the rain has meant every single seed has germinated. Anyone else have this problem?

thanks!

I don't have a conservatory no. Not sure where I'd put them as all quite exposed. The one that is losing its leaves is also looking droopy whereas the other one is very perky and still green and only a little bit smaller. It certainly doesn't look like normal autumn leafdrop. Would I damage it further by moving?
