Water harvesting system for under £35

Posted: 29/08/2013 at 19:26

Hi Sue, yes thats how I have the water butts currently connected. I do like the idea of just taking all the water butts and moving them out the way. The website says that you can drain all the water butts at the same time by using the tap on the hydrobutt, im quite impressed =)

I posted another thread about a waterbutt location problem then stumbled upon this product called the Hydrobutt from a website www.rainwatersavewater.com.

Looks pretty good but I alsways thought rainwater harvestings systems cost thousands.

Have any of you guys tried before or any other advice?

thanks Darren B

Thanks guys they are good ideas and I can see how they will work. I think im going to try the Hyrdobutt from these guys www.rainwatersavewater.com. Looks like a good system, I am a novice at things like this, but can you see any issues with this system that i may have.?? I quite like the look of the idea of not having to any water butts stuck next to the drain pipe.

I was thinking about behind the shed, approx 50 ft away. Do you think that would work jatnikapyar? And how do you connect the water butts togather?

Wow that sounds good, plenty of water! i was up late last nite looking at both the websites and they both seem to do the same thing, the only thing is that the hub system is very expensive, do you have to siphon evey water butt to get them going?

I have used this website to solve other problems I have had but couldnt find any for this issue so I thought I would post my own, hopefully there is the answer out there with my fellow readers...

So basically i have two water butts and I would like to add another, the only problem is I only have one suitable drainpipe which is being used for my current two water butts so I have no available space.

Ideally I need to move all the water butts somewhere else and still have them connected to my drain pipe.

I have no idea!!

I have been searching the net and there arent many products out there exept for these two:

The Rainwater Hub (www.rainwaterhub.co.uk) and the other is call the Hydrobutt (www.rainwatersavewater.com)

I have never seen these products before and I was wondering if anyone has used them before for some feedback before I look to buying one.

Or any other ideas that may help me solve my small issue.

Cheers guys

Darren B
